If I'm in your shoes, I stay away from this game. OPEN employs a style of play that's difficult to watch. I absolutely abhor the philosophy of always playing for the tie and never for the win. That is SO frustrating from a fan's perspective.

Good point TGF, Open has a way of "putting you to sleep" so to speak, the kids get a little lazy, not as focused as they should be and thats when alot of injuries take place. Rams,don't let this happen. Stay Focusedon what you need to do, don't get yourself in trouble just bc you are playing Open and.........................................

I just heard some breaking news, it appears that the OPEN Coach has told several people that after this game, he is not going to re-sign to play Raceland next year. I pray that is not true. I would hate to see this series end.

Maybe if Coach Maynard gives a little ground and allows the game to be played on OPEN's home field, the game can still go on. I've heard that OPEN loses a lot to graduation after this season and may be maneuvering for every advantage it can get.

That is what I was thinking, if Coach Maynard can find a way to make this game, happen, I am pretty sure Raceland can win the next four or five seasons. But, this year's game is going to be a tough one.

They are 6A, but they are playing up eight classes, they are that good.

Sorry, but I think OPEN will remain undefeated. I haven't gotten the chance to play against them but from what I hear, you just can't beat them.

Valid point. I can live with that, so long as you are rooting for the Rams anyway.

 

I also heard that OPEN has had quite a few transfers from West Virginia, and Raceland does not have a history of much success versus teams like that.

Ram I would love to see it continue as well but this now looks like O's coach has the same philosophy as a couple of coaches in our area :ohbrother:. I won't mention them bc everyone already knows who they are , Maybe these coaches roomed together at Mamby Pamby State University and played for the Mamby "Fighting Jackwagons" , I don't know.

 

I have checked with a couple of my contacts and found out that Bye Week can play us and are willing to schedule. I think that Coach Maynard will "drop Open as fast as 3rd period French" and schedule Bye Week.

I have treating some of the players from Open Highlanders. They should be playing at 100% and have no excuses.

 

Also, it is true that Open's coach, Coach Gopher Tye, has planned on dropping the Raceland contract after this year. It has been seen on some coaching sites looking for games next year touting them as a 4A program that is really a 1A program. Just sayin.

Open is very predictable on both sides of the ball. They have the #1 ranked defense in the state, actually in all 50 states, but, no offense to Open supporters, their offense sucks.
