October 23, 201015 yr Guns N Roses with Aerosmith at Buckeye Lake was great......Kiss at Rupp was super. I saw Steve Earle play the bar at the Holiday Inn (?) in Prestonsburg. That was a riot! SOmetimes the little venues provide the most pleasant surprises. I remember (vaguely) seeing Heart play a Baltimore nightclub called The Palace. Between their first two albums so they played numbers from both of them. Great show.

Between their first two albums so they played numbers from both of them. Great show. Most of the best shows I've been to were in an audience of 150 or fewer. Frankly, going to see bands in big arenas and outdoor venues, for lack of a better term, sucks. Gimme a nice intimate setting any day of the week.

November 4, 201015 yr A couple of years ago I went to see the Fabulous Thunderbirds at the Taft. Their opening act was Junior Brown. I am not a country music fan by any stretch, but Junior Brown on the double neck guitar was amazing. I saw Leo Kottke at the Kentucky Theatre in Lexington and Eric Clapton at Riverfront Coliseum. I would rate Junior the most entertaining guitar player of the three. He can play that 'thang':sssh:

Jay-Z is definitely an exception to that rule especially if you can get the same line up as the MTV Unplugged he did.
November 4, 201015 yr :ylsuper: I loved those concerts at Timberwolf. I had a season pass so all concerts cost something like 5 more bucks. All day at KI and then a concert. Big fun. I thought Buffet was much better there than at Riverbend. Might have had something to do with the all day "festivities" at the park.:dancingpa
November 5, 201015 yr Muse sounded amazing live this weekend. It was seriously like listening to a CD except better with the live show and extended songs etc. The Eagles of Death Metal rocked out as hard as anyone I've seen in a long time, definitely one of my favorites from the weekend.
November 8, 201015 yr Lots of choices I've never heard of but thats cool. Glad to see that my fav' made several folks lists. Bruce Springsteen 84 --rupp arena, no opening act and he played for 3.5 hours, finished up with the lights on playing "Santa Claus is comin' to town" . Born in the USA tour. My 1st concert I ever saw ranks high -- KiSS in Huntington WV. I was a 6th grader. Alive II tour 1978 . I still remember where I set/stood. 7th day slumber and Skillet are my two "modern time" favorites. Skillet really puts on a good show and I was stage front for two of them.

I like to think that I have a wide range of musical taste and I have no idea who either 7th Day Slumber or Skillet are....
