So who are Dixie's top 8? We know the main 4. Muntis and Cohorn sound like they are in the mix. Who are the next two and will they see floor time?

Jordan Hassel (Jr) G

Goose Cohorn (Jr) G

Christian Harris (Sr) G/F

Josh Armbruster (Sr) G

Frank Muntis (Sr) C

And a couple of new faces...one is in contention for a starting position.

All of the players above are capable of seeing good floor time...just depends on how Coach C chooses

to utilize. The guards are all very good 3 point shooters.

Goose is still on the fence as to whether or not he'll play. I spoke with Coach Chevy earlier today and he said that Goose will have to be a JV player before he becomes varsity....Goose didn't really like that. As Chevy said, "you have to drive the pick up first before you get the keys to the Cadillac."

Now with that said though, Goose is a kid that could make a contribution after, say, December.

Coach also mentioned Seth Bruns as one of the best on the ball defenders he's ever had. Expect to see him get quality minutes this year.

A few other kids to look for are Darrez Waller, who transferred from Holmes over the summer, as well a 6'0 soph or jr guard that came to Dixie over the summer from Cincy. Can't remember his name.

I can tell you this...Kenny is extremely excited about his team this year and despite being preseason #3, he really likes this group and their chances at cutting down the nets at NKU in March.

After re-thinking it, Dixie should actually be pretty deep this year.

I was reading Demling's blog and he listed a kid from Dixie as one of the top sophomores in the state. What do we know about Zach Young?

Excellent player....where he'll fit into the puzzle is yet to be determined.

My guess is he'll be full-time JV and pick up more varsity minutes as the year progresses.

Zach Moo-Young is a solid player, not sure I would rank him as top in the state though. He played with some of the Holmes boys this summer in AAU tourneys. He definitely has a lot of upside and will be a nice compliment to Hatton most likely next season. I can see Pike/Hatton and Young being their top 3 next season, however that is then and we are in the now. Expect Dixie to be there in the thick of things when tourney time comes around. Chevalier is a good coach and if he can keep Pike under control and get the scoring from Hatton they will do very well.

I've heard different stories about Cohorn and Bruns playing / not playing. They're in football mode right now so I guess we'll find out when that ends .....and yes Bruns is a lockdown type defender.....extremely quick.

6'3 wing that can absolutely jump out of the gym from what I hear. Very long and athletic.

Yes but somewhat soft and needs to learn how to take over a game consistently like he can. I watched the Birds Frosh dismantle him last year but kids get better and he definitely has potential to be an All Region player.

Heard he was playing at Better Bodies all summer in his spare time and has really improved his game.

Just heard that Kevon Rice has enrolled at Dixie and will be playing basketball if ruled eligible

I believe the coach has to let him on the team first, if ruled eligible......................Coach may end up thinking he isn't worth the trouble. Didn't come from Chevy, but just a hunch.

Saw Kevon at the Holmes scrimmage tonight. He's indeed at Dixie.

Said the paperwork is already sent in for eligibility and he's just waiting to hear back from the state.....
