Congrats to the Camels on pulling out what sounds like a hard fought win over Cooper!! Cooper will be getting that first district victory soon it sounds like; no longer a gimme for anyone.

He sat out a lot of the 3rd and 4th quarter with what appeared to be cramping. He had a pretty good game, Campbell had chances to put this one away several times and were just sloppy.

Very talented player. Ultra fast. Great balance.

 

The Jaguar running game faltered after his departure. If he had stayed in the game, the final score may have favored Cooper.

 

Camels lead 28-14 at the half. The Camel offense went to sleep in the second half. Lots of dropped balls. However, good to see the running game revived with Glasgow, Popp. and Kremer.

Some of Cooper players need to realize what proper hydration is. IMO, this is what cost Cooper the game with their RB and QB going down with cramps late in the game. It does not matter if they played both sides of the ball because Campbell County had a couple of players as well. It is knowing you need to hydrate during the week. I could understand if it was a hot & humid night but it was not.

 

Good Luck to Cooper, they have a great RB.

Just wondering but do you only get on here to bash coach Borchers? The man should be applauded with the way he is developing this program. You know what the old saying is, if you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all...

For those who weren't there, you missed one hell of a game.

 

Campbell came out strong and drove right down and scored on their first drive of the game.

 

Cooper answered in a big way though and scored on their very first play of the game on a playaction pass down the left sideline that went for about 65 yards.

 

Campbell and Cooper would then trade scores, but Cooper's score to tie the game at 4 was a thing of beauty. They lined up in the "wild jaguar", Bradley runs right, pitches to Morris on a reverse, who catches a receiver down the sideline for a huge gain and Cooper would score on the very next play. Absolutely a great call.

 

Campbell would score the next two td's and head in to the locker room up 28-14.

 

The Jags weren't dead though and weren't about to lay down and roll over.

 

Bradley had two long runs in the third, including one on Cooper's first drive to start the second half, to pull the Jags back to a tie game and it was game on from there.

 

A couple questionable calls and no calls the rest of the game would lead to OT.

 

Cooper played the entire 4th and most of the 3rd without Bradley, who went out with cramps after his second Td run. If not for him going out, the Jags win, IMO.

 

Game would head to OT and Campbell would need just 2 plays to punch it in.

 

Cooper picked up 5 yards on their first run, then 1 on their second but a sack on third down would push them all the way back to the 12. They called for a halfback pass on 4th down, that was incomplete and that's your ball game.

 

Great game to watch from a neutral fan.

What game were you watching? Borchers' play calling was the reason Cooper made it a game. He had some very good play calling to keep CC on their heels the entire night. IF not for Bradley going down the entire second half with cramps, Cooper wins this game, plain and simple.

A little surprised there hasn't been more chatter on this one.

With the loss, Cooper was eliminated from the playoff picture.

 

As it stands right now, I believe the playoff seeding looks like this:

 

1. Ryle 4-0

2. Simon Kenton 3-1

2. Campbell Co 3-1

4. Boone Co 1-3 / Conner 1-3

 

Winner of SK/Campbell Co this week gets the #2 seed. Loser #3 seed.

Conner can wrap up a playoff spot with a win over Cooper.

Boone would get the #4 seed with a win over Ryle and Conner loss to Cooper.
