:lol: Reminds me of the guy at Mercer County a few years ago. Any time it was a big play he would start yelling "get behind that Scottie defense, HOW 'BOUT THAT SCOTTIE DEFENSE!" I have no problem with school pride and support, but you are there to announce a game for fans from both sides. You can't be that much of a homer.

 

By the way, ended up meeting that Mercer announcer at a church function a couple years later and he was the nicest guy. Didn't have the heart to tell him to stop announcing like he does!:lol:

There was some INCREDIBLY horrible sportsmanship from "some" of the Boyle County coaches, players, fans. It is hard for me to believe that a program with such a good history of producing this caliber of team would tollerate this kind of activity. With a 28 point lead and in complete control of the game, why would you onside kick on the opening kick of the second half.

I'm just asking, why wouldn't you? A 4 TD lead is not that large of a deficit and it gives future opponents something more to work on doesn't it?

French speaks in generalities about some player's actions and sounds like he will address it. Remember, French benched his #1 QB for the whole game because of a team rules infraction. It's not like he "puts up with a lot" that he deems as "unsportsmanlike" or detremental to the team.

You got to be kidding me. 28 points and coming out after halftime. The officials must have thought the same way and would not give the ball the Boyle. The ball has to go 10 yards and the kicker waited and waited and fell on it after the ball crossed the line. Guess it suprised them and they did not know what to do. The officials started losing complete control of the game.

 

Got even worse after Mcgilligan sacked the QB 3 yards into the endzone and the both side judges just stood their and let the head ref (back of the endzone) place the ball on the 1 yardline. Guess he thought he had the better view of forward progress from behind the play. From this point on the game went south.

They do it every game, every year, they onside kicked "accidentally" on Lafayette when they were up 40. I wish they would do it in a tie game, a close game, or when they are down. I would respect them then for doing it. Right now they do it because they are up and know they aren't going to lose. A very small portion of these players will go on to play at the next level, but they will all remember what they have learned from their coaches and parents and fans. It is great that there is a large amount of support for Boyle County football I love it and I wish there was more support for all of the high school programs, but we must remember that their is a big difference between supporting them and teaching them by bad example!!!!!!!

I believe the penalty on the coaches at the end of the game was the result of them trying to protect the physical well being of a player which was over looked. I believe protecting a kid from in illegal hit to a non-ball carrying member and a potential two months in a wheelchair (he was in a wheelchair last year because of a knee injury) constitutes as something to complain about.
