Birds are playing that night down in Paris at the KY Bank shootout but i agree would have been nice to see them matched against an Elder. They played Oak Hills and Anderson over the summer and faired well. Earlu Dec tourney games are tough though at Highlands as they are normally playing for football state championships with a few of their key guys.

Is Towles going to play basketball for HHS?

When I spoke to Coach Flynn 2 weeks ago, he included Towles as one of the guys he expected good things from this year.

Count on Towles suiting up along with Carter New and a few sophomores that are on the football roster. I am hearing Bruns isnt coming out which is a loss of a lockdown defender and athletic rebounder if its true.

I've been asked to work the event again this year and to coordinate the press table and getting people to work the clock and scoreboard stats. I've decided to be the PA announcer for the event.

I'm really looking forward to the Male/Taft, Holmes/Aiken and Mason County/Princeton games. The other three just aren't that interesting especially CovCath/Cincy St. X...I simply can't stand the slow down game that St. X and the rest of the GCL South runs...boring boring boring. The only to look forward to for this game is the student sections and to see how raucous they get.

I wonder if the big football player for Taft (Adolphus something) plays b-ball. 6'5 or so.

Adolphus Washington was Taft's leading scorer last year.

Very nice athlete both on the gridiron and hardwood.

From the Enquirer:

Taft junior DE Adolphus Washington has at least 16 verbal scholarship offers, according to Taft coach Mike Martin.

Martin said in an e-mail today that Washington has added offers from West Virginia, Louisville, Syracuse and Florida State.

In early October, this blog reported Washington had offers from UC, Ohio State, Kentucky, Alabama, Colorado, Illinois, Texas, Texas A&M, Indiana, Pittsburgh, Boston College and Northwestern.

Washington, who is 6-foot-4 and 245 pounds, had 107 tackles, 19 sacks and two fumble recoveries during this past regular season for the Senators.

I saw that the other day.

Looking forward to seeing him in person.

Just a reminder to everyone that we will be bringing live video coverage of the games on nkysports.com

I wonder if the impending white death on Sunday will have an impact on the crowd or possibly cancel some games.

If the mason game will not be played, will the CCH / St X game start earlier???

No...Princeton v Taft will be played instead.

That should be a great game.

Thanks!

I was very disappointed with the lack of student support especially for the Dixie team who is now ranked #1 in Northern Ky.

I agree.

There were virtually no students in the stands.

That should change today with Covcath and St. X going against one another

I doubt it will be a normal sized student section for CCH.
