Besides, Male makes a neat little district for the south east.

I'm guessing Dunbar will be moved when the new McCracken school opens in a year or two. Muhlenberg County would likely move into District 2.

 

Who else would you now put into District 2 to even out the districts. Based on geography of course.

Given the current composition of 6A, I suspect Dunbar will stay in District 2 ... Muhlenberg would have to take Nelson County's place in 2013.

To my knowledge Fern Creek has been a Traditional school for some time, but I don't know how long exactly. But they're for sure a Traditional magnet.

Does it matter if he mentioned it or not? Either T is further east than Fern Creek, Ballard or Eastern or it is not. If it is further east than one of those three, T belongs being placed in the district with Oldham County. If it isn't further east than one of those schools, then it doesn't belong in the Oldham district. Why is that so blooming difficult to understand? Because it's different than the way it currently is? Who cares. Lots of teams are getting moved around, not only in districts but classes. Maybe Fern Creek is only one mile further east. Should that be ignored just to make it a little easier on Manual, Male or X, but tougher on the schools in the eastern bracket to make it to state? I think not.

 

Why do you care so much where T will end up, when according to the article none of the ADs of the 4 schools intends to appeal it?

I'm sorry, but I simply don't buy the "further east" argument. Do no other cardinal directions matter? If this was a decision based on east-west, then why are PRP, Butler, Manual and (it looks to be by a hair) St. X - those furthest west - not a district? That would leave Male, Southern, Seneca and Trinity as the "middle" of Louisville schools.

Yes, because Fern Creek is further east than Trinity. Second, you are completely disregarding Tackett's comment about "common schools". Add that into the mix and it is pretty obvious how the district was put together.

Quite frankly, I suspect this is all just an exercise in moving the goal posts. When they come back in a few weeks and tell us about all the careful consideration and deliberation and meditating on feedback and propose something like this:

then everyone will be able to say, yes, that's better, it makes more sense, it's a good compromise, but it still won't be the most efficient or logical setup, and it will still secure their top goal which is to keep X and T on the same side of the bracket. I don't really care about that last part, I just don't like the gerrymandering to get there.

The most obvious thing these schools have in common, when it comes to football realignment, is that none of the four are pantywaists in football, so no one wants to play them. :lol:
