I think Chad is trying to protect his buddies, Carson and TO. Some people might be surprised by this statement but I am not. Chad is and always has been a great team mate. Find me one player who ever said anything different. He is one of the hardest workers on the field and off the field. He is passionate about wanting himself and his team to win. People want to get on him for all the trash talking and his antics after TD's, but who cares? I have always been amazed at people who get all caught up in that like it is a problem for the team. I am glad he is trying to take some blame because he played pretty bad last week. I just have a hard time believing anything he says honestly. He is just so calculated and everything he says and does is for a reason, mostly to get his name in the news.

I like how Chad comes out and says this. However even though I am still one of the few people who believe in Carson, I do admit Carson is one of the many reasons for why the offense has struggled. Their is no one reason for why this offense has been bad. Chad has ran some wrong routes, dropped balls and short armed catches. Carson has definitely made some bad throws and decisions, and the offensive line is not that good at pass blocking. Not to mention IMO they have the worst offensive coordinator in the league. I think to many people don't think about how big of a role the offensive coordinator plays in how well an offense and a quarterback plays. You can look all around the league and see guys who have struggled under some coordinators and then really took off under some. Kyle Orton is a perfect example, no one thought to much of him in Chicago. However now in Denver, where he has a very good offensive guy calling the plays. He has looked like a very good QB, and that is with really no top receivers. Drew Brees went from a good QB, to a great QB under a great offensive mind in Sean Peyton.

 

Chad, Carson, etc. all are reasons for the offensive struggles. However I think the biggest reason is the offensive coordinator. He is so predictable with what he does. He confuses no one with his passing route combinations. When is the last time we seen a team have a broken coverage against the Bengals, and a receiver wide open with no one around him? It seems like it happens for other teams, yet never happens here and its because the Bengals confuse nobody.

It's simple. Do not be disingenuous. He in NO WAY believes the offensive woes are "on him." The qb is the #1 challenge right now. He knows it. We all know it. Don't spit on me and tell me it's raining.

If you didn't notice, I did say Palmer is one of the reasons too. Its definitely not all on Chad, because the whole offense has been bad from Chad, to Palmer, to the line. The one guy who I think is one of the bigger reasons though is Bratkowski. He has been running this offense since 2001, and it looks the same as it did then. This team confuses no one. Me and you can predict whats coming about 90 percent of the probably. Then when we pass its usually two routes that our receivers run. That is the out, and the deep in. We have been seeing it since 2001, its safe to say people know what we are doing now.

Palmer is part of the problem, but so is Chad when he runs the wrong routes and the offensive line when they can't block anyone...
