More excuses for Carson. Nothing new.

Palmer is part of the problem, but so is Chad when he runs the wrong routes and the offensive line when they can't block anyone...

I agree that Chad could be fishing for compliments, but I don't have a problem with it. It's better than the other way around, and it shows me that he's at least paying enough attention to know that the offense is struggling.

My personal opinion (and it may have nothing to do with this thread) is that anything #85 says should be ignored. #85's ego/all about me attitude is as bad as it gets imo. Now the Bengals figure they need more to destroy a team and they sign #81 and #24 to solidify team controversey and destroyed . The Bengals front office has once again proven the are the worst ran organization in sports.

Sorry for hi jacking the thread, just had to say it and I don't ssee how anyone could expect anything good out of the Bengals with this way of running a team. Chad and T.O. imo will have plenty of time to eat the :popcorn: when they are on the couch watching the post season.

They will never end. Carson will be long retired when some of these guys stop talking about what could have been during his tenure. You could make a million excuses for any QB, but great ones overcome them. Peyton Manning has had no run game or defense and still wins. Brady has had no weapons around him and won. Brees was in a city with horrible football tradition and a bunch of offensive no names. It's hilarious to me, because the facts are out there for everyone on each Sunday. Palmer is an average QB and holds his team back. I think he will be the reason their seasons ends, whether it's with no playoffs or after a game or two in the playoffs.

 

Some of you guys act like no other teams have some holes. From what I can see everyteam has weaknesses somewhere, some Bengals fans on here just like to use them as a crutch for Carson Palmer, so they can hope and wish him into becoming an Elite QB.

I really don't see Chad that way, but to each his own.

Sirius NFL Radio did a special segment on "what's wrong with Carson Palmer and the Bengal offense". It was a really good in depth breakdown from film on what all was wrong. Some things that came out of it.

1: Bartkowski is bad.

2: They need to be a running team that sets up the pass which is how they got to the playoffs last year.

3. They are giving Carson way to much to do making things to do with so many new players.

4. TO is a tough WR to get used to throwing too in the fact that he is such a straight line guy unlike somebody like Chad that adjusts to the ball well. The NFL guys said while he's a great physical WR he doesn't adjust real well and it takes time getting used to throwing to him.

5. Greshem and Shipley are both rookies which means they are confused at times. On top of that while Carson is doing the no huddle stuff at times he's having to tell them what to do along with T.O. who they got right before camp.

6. Only one QB has ever come back from the elbow injury Carson had. That was Delhomme...did he really come back?

7. They have zero backups at the QB spot to challenge Palmer.

8. IMO refer to #1 that's the biggest problem IMO.

I agree with you, Bob Bratkowski is the biggest part. All those things they said are very true too, however #1 is the biggest thing. People don't seem to ever realize the offensive coordinator plays a huge part in how a QB does. Just like at Sean Peyton and what he did with Brees. Brees was just a good QB before Sean Peyton, and with Peyton's offense he has not turned into a top 3 QB.

 

I am not completely taking away from Palmer here, because no doubt he does have to play better. I can admit that to, and I been someone supporting him. He needs to step his game up, just like everyone else on that offense. However the biggest reason is Bob the Brat.

At least Chad had a distraction free week of preparation to get his game back on track.
