This topic was brought up by a LCA fan in another thread, saying that he/she thought LCA would stay in 1A next year. Is this possible considering their enrollment numbers put them well in the middle of 2A? Will they possible attempt to move up the 3A? Where will LCA end up?

Can anyone provide some history on LCA? Enrollment? How long has the school been around? How have their sports teams done over the last 5 years?

According the KHSAA numbers LCA will be playing 2A.

No, LCA will not be playing 1A. The cut off for 1A is at 200. LCA's enrollment is at 237, which is near the middle of the teams in 2A. LCA can ask for an exception and move up in class but they can not move down. The only way LCA can play 1A is if the KHSAA changes all their plans in their current proposal.

Are you sure they're going with definite cutoff numbers for each division? I thought the 1A and 6A classes were the 32 smallest and 32 biggest with the remaining split as even possible between the other four classes with enrollment and geography being part of it as well...or I could just totally be wrong on my assumption.

LCA will fight it based on geography. Interesting fact, Mayfield is at 199 exactly.

This is correct. There is no number cutoff for the classes. The smallest 32 teams will make up 1A.
