I was at the game and have my own opinion of the ref calls... I will leave at that! Two talented teams played hard tonight. The Rocks have very, very talented sophomores that have to learn to control there emotions to avoid the deserved personal fouls. Retaliation will always get you caught. T's coaching staff will address these issues with film and in practice this week... Great win! GO ROCKS! #20!

Great Post, JS! I tell our guys, "Shut up and play football!!" They know I mean it because they're representing themselves, our team, our school, and our community and their parents. They have their slipups, but they know how they're suppoosed to handle it...just that sometimes in extreme emotion, it's going to happen.

Fans of a winning team that lament and point fingers as to why they didn't "win by more" are classless fans. Simple as that.

 

I have no idea where that came from. Not my impression of the comments at all. Merely observations on the game. I. for one, was very happy with a one point win. I'd be careful throwing out that "classless fan' comment.:irked:

That would be great, JS! With the Murderer's Row we have facing us starting in the 2nd round through the 5A title game, it is one of the toughest roads by anybody in the postseason for the last five years! I would love for Coach Wallace and the guys to get that brass ring someday...that time may be soon with only 12 seniors this year! It would be great for us to hook up with you, PepRock, rockmom, and others come December. Just ask some of the BGHS faithful where Bulldog is, and you will find me...the wheelchair is a dead giveaway!:lol: Thanx for the props!:thumb:

Was Coach Wallace not with BG when they won state in 1995? I thought he was at BG back then.

 

Also, PH: what team is considered to be BG's biggest rival in football year in and year out? Has it changed over time?

Thoughts on the game...the refs did a good job! They were not going to call a penalty that would dictate the outcome of the game. There were some "obvious" holding calls that were missed agaisnt T but I don't thingk that wold have changed anything. T has a very underrated running game, which won the game for them. Bowling Green's RT took T "super sopomore" DL out of the game. When he made plays it was either against a TE or chased it down from the back side. it was a good game and it could have gone either way...I wonder what will be Coach Betty's "reason" for not scoring more points...because like in '09 when T was SHUTOUT it was because of injuries not becasue BG has one heck of a defense.

Did Trinity's offense not score against BG last year? Were T's points from defense/special teams in 2009?

Sorry got a little confused. BG's D held T offense to 3 field goals...

^ Very impressive that in two games against Trinity, BG gave up a total of two TDs and three FGs!

Question for those Trinity folks. You've now seen Trinity play BG and Highlands (I realize Highlands was a scrimmage). What are your honest thoughts comparing these two 5A teams. My gut tells me same old story but just had to ask!
