Would you be as shocked if I told you LCA played without 5 defensive starters and by half lost 2 more? The half time score was 16-0 at half. The eagles entered the game with 29 players with 13 being freshman. Catholic's depth took over in second half. The LCA players who played gave everything they had. The score is not indicative of LCA and their team. I'm proud to be an LCA fan. The boys had a stacked deck against them and they played until they were completely worn out.

So Bluto, up to this point, LCA seemed on tract to possibly even make it back to BG. How do you explain this given that Lex Cath is not its normal self. Off night or does Cath just have LCA's number

LCA players absent from the game: Starting linebackers Chad Hall and Sam Maybriar and their backups Evan Grant and Saun Hoke. Starting defensive lineman Josh West. Starting cornerback Adam Hilton and other starteing cornerback Hunter Rowe went down half-way through the game. Team Captain and Starting outside linebacker Max Barjuca. Also Michael McFadden was injured. LCA did the best with what they had and with many people filling in positions they had never played anymore.

Wow! Congrats Lex Cath! I didn't see that one coming. Not that it should not have happened but I am surprised LCA didn't put up a better game.

So you are saying LCA only has 25 (16 + 9 missing tonight) players from grades 10-12 on their roster? For a school coming off a state title and will be playing in 2A next year, that surprises me.

To all of the LCA team and fans. You have shown some kind of sportsmanship. Getting beat really bad. Knowing you had NINE starters missing from this game. And not one word about it till half way through this post. Even after hearing about it. You didn't use it as an excuse. Any other fan base (including myself) would have been screaming something like: We were missing half our starters, That wasn't our real team, If the school hadn't punished half our team we would have beaten them. Proud of the way you handled this. You play with what players you have! And that is what you did. Maybe we can all learn from this!!

But as for the game, I think it's somewhat of an anomaly and don't think a lot should be made of the score. The Knights, in my opinion, are still growing up and just had a lot of depth that wore the Eagles down over the course of the game. I would have loved to play LCA with their full arsenal. We have a tough schedule left with Boyle, the directional Jessamines and Trinity. Good luck to LCA and much respect for manning up when your back was against the wall.

Tough situation for LCA, but one that they put on themselves ( kids have to learn rules-sometimes easy and somtimes the hard way). To their credit, they manned up and played the game. When the score in third quarter hit 23-0, I think a lot of heart took a hike. LC's got a lot of talent in the freshman and sophmore ranks and as it gets experience, they begin to show. That said, LCA was, in their emaciated form, not the yardstick they could have been, but you play the game with what you've got. Boyle Co will be a much different kind of yardstick and we'll be lucky to escape with our scalps. The season moves on...
