6. Allen County vs. Westmoreland, TN

7. Knox Central at McCreary Central

Is there really 10 better teams in 4A than Lexcath? I find that a bit surprising.

I think that they should be in the top ten ahead of Collins and Lawrence Co IMO.

When did Bell move ahead of Boyle?

This week.

This week.

I was just wondering I didn't think that it was last week. Thanks Ram:thumb:

No problem. I think Bells domination of Johnson Central contrasted with Boyle and Johnson Central playing close was the deciding factor.

That is what I figured that it was based on we will take it but Boyle is still the defending 4A champ until they are beaten out.

Bell County has played better football. I don't think you can base it on one game. I think you should base it on who has played better football and right now, it's Bell County. They deserve to be #1. Don't be modest Bobcat fans! :thumb:

As I've said before - embrace your team's goodness. Don't be afraid to have a target on your back.:thumb:

It's hard to use comparable scores to compare teams unless they have played each other. Boyle and JC played the first game of the season, when neither team really knew what they had. Bell and JC played week 5 when teams are alot closer to who they are going to be. I'm not taking anything from Bell, at all. I think they are the best team in the mountains and may very well be the best team in 4A. Just thtat basing it on this one common opponent isn't really fair ot either team.

Here is and example of how comparable scores can be misleading....

Knox 9 Clay County 6

Clay County 43 Middlesboro 42

This would make you think that the Knox / Middlesboro game should be a great one....right?

Well as we all know that wasn't the case.... Knox 45 Middlesboro 0.

Matchups and schemes mean so much in football that one team may be a great fit for another team but completely out of their game against another team.

Boyle and Bell will be a great game, can't wait until they settle this on the field during the playoffs.

As of the first 5 weeks Bell has played the better ball and deserves the #1 ranking. I have to agree with the polls. If Boyle does not improve they will not make it to week 14, and can watch the Bobcats play from the stands.

Is Holmes a legitimate threat to Boyle if those two end up meeting in the region championship of the playoffs?

Obviously Holmes would have to get by Lexcath in round 2, but is Lexcath down enough that Holmes would beat them this year?

I agree with some of the other posts on here. I'm not sure Lexcath is completely out of the picture. Their losses are to some pretty strong teams. How they perform against Lexington Christian will speak volumes!

My Lone Oak Purple Flash have a fair chance of coming out of the west again. Allen County will be a big obstacle if they meet. I believe ACS has home field advantage this year. Marion Co. will be tough again as concerns LO's chances of getting to Bowling Green. I don't know much about Louisville Western, but I assume they are one of the favorites in the west.

One source of optimism is Cole Ousley's improvement at QB. By playoff time he should be beyond the freshman label. LO's defense this year is very strong. They need to make a statement against 6A Graves Co. this Friday.
