Boys' Names

Featured Replies

One of my brothers and his wife are expecting their 3rd son in early October and they're having quite a struggle agreeing on names. They had a hard enough time coming up with the first two names - this time it seems darn near impossible.

They're looking for more more "traditional" type names (their first two were named Henry and Luke), and as Catholics, Biblical/saintly names are kind of a preferred, but not necessary. Samuel, Jude, and Maxwell are all apparently ruled out because of cousins' names. Sooooo...if that's not a tall enough order, let's hear some suggestions.

Your bro a CCH guy? If so, how about naming them after St. Lynn or St. Jack? Maybe St. Dan?

Haha, actually, he's (regretfully) a Cov Latin grad. Don't worry though, both of his sons, 5 yrs old and 3 yrs old, know the Cov Cath fight song and have their fair share of spirit wear already. I'll definitely give him the suggestions though.

Linus is actually one of my favorite names...

With our son and daughter, we went with "traditional" first names and middle names that had a family connection.

I think they want to have family names fit in there somehow or other too. Henry is a family name on both sides, and Luke's middle name is Anthony - same as my dad's.

There you go.

Augustus Simeon has a nice ring to it.

Another option might be to throw all the mods' usernames into a hat, then draw two at random.

I'm thinking Watusi Ram (insert last name here).

Or combine them
