Ryle is getting no love in the poll despite the big win over CCH. Current poll tally is 26-4 in favor of Highlands. I would guess most expect Highlands to win but also expect a battle. If you started a poll asking if Highlands will win by more than 2 TD's I think it would be a much closer poll.
I agree, I picked the Birds to win, but I know Ryle has an excellent team and this one should be a battle. I'm hoping I can make it to this one.

Highlands has the depth to outlast Ryle but they better stop the Raider's rushing game first and foremost.

Here's a question: I am hoping to attend this game with some family, one of whom resides in Ft. Thomas. Can tickets to the game be purchased at HHS prior to Friday night, and if so, how/when/where? If they can be bought early, I plan to have a family member stop by HHS and get some.

I love Ryle's chances in this one. As good as their running game is - and it's outstanding - they won't win it going exclusively on the ground and will need to get some yards through the air. Tough opponent to do this against, but I think Hempel and his receivers will get the job done. I do wish he had a taller WR to throw downfield to. He throws a deep ball as well as anyone, as evidenced time and time again last year, and they need to keep this in their arsenal.

Ryle 28, HHS 24.

It will be hard to throw against Abner and Bruns two D1 prospects..

I think the Birds take this one by 2 td's.

Highlands will put a lot of pressure on Ryle's secondary, unlike Covcath did this past week. With HHS mixing in their passing game, the running game should be able to produce like they did against Manual. Special teams will also be a key part in why HHS wins. Ryle won't get very good field position after a HHS score.

The key for a Ryle win is for them to simply get ahead early to build confidence. They won't win by toting the rock all night. Highlands defense is simply too good so they'll have to spread the wealth and find guys like Deion Mullins out in space to make plays.

IMO, this will be a high scoring affair.

All I have to say is....Mr. Elliott, meet Mr. Sullivan. Talk about a train wreck.

How many Ryle players play both ways, even in spot situations?

Last year, I recall a change from the first game to the second, with several players picking up time on D as well. Have they started out that way this year?

This will be the key to the game Ryle plays atleast 3 or 4 players both ways I just read in the newspaper Highlands will not have any one playing both ways this year.

I believe Elliott, Hempel, and Mullins all play both ways.

Yes, they generally can be purchased in advance, but I'm not sure how far. IIRC, go in the front doors and into the office on the right. If they don't have them, they'll direct you to the bookstore.

These three (Hemple, Elliott, Mullins) did not play both ways against CCH. Out of the three, Elliott only played one or two defensive plays. Ryle also played almost all two platoon last night. There were some players that spot played on both sides.

Where did you get this information?. Dead wrong!

If Elliott thinks he's gonna run over these Birds' date=' he's going to be disappointed friday night. For all the confidence you have in predicting a win next friday against the Birds, you sure have alot of "if's" in your post. If "if's and but's" were candy and nuts, everday would be Christmas. Tougher game than Manual agreed, but this year's Birds are out to prove all doubters and they have a team with little to no "if's and buts".[/quote']

I never once said Elliott would run all over HHS. Bottom line is their streak will end one day and Ryle probably has the best shot at ending it. Forgive me for picking picking against HHS, I should have known better.

Poll says Highlands has this one 39 to 6. I thought everybody was saying this is the year Ryle beats Highlands I love the comedy on here.

That'l teach you to post a fair and balanced opinion! :D

BTW, our schedule shows it as a 7:30 start.
