Excuse my ignorance or age, but could someone enlighten me on what "icing" is?

 

It's some dumb game where you trick your friend into grabbing a Smirnoff Ice somehow. Once they do, they are suppose to drop to one knee and chug the thing (not the greatest experience because of the carbonation).

I am confused here.

 

Basically it's a game fraternities started where someone makes someone else chug a Smirnoff Ice on one knee. The whole concept is it being really uncomfortable because of the carbonation, and it being seen as a "girly" drink.

 

Basically in order to "ice" someone you have to simply pull a Smirnoff out on them, and they have to chug it on one knee. The fun of it comes in the creative ways to do so, such as the grill or shoebox examples from above.

 

If someone pulls one on you, and you happen to have a Smirnoff on you, you can "block" the icing and the other person has to chug both.

 

It's just all in good dumb fun. :lol:

I had never even heard of it until I saw it on Tosh.O and I must say it comes off as pretty gay...not that there is anything wrong with that.

It sounds more or less like a game of "tag". Sorry UK-MF, I know you are the master icer and all, but that game sounds kind of lame. :idunno:

 

When I was a youngster our drinking games always seemed to elicit a more "raunchy" brand of fun. :lol:

The game was perpetuated by the "bro" culture (which is a culture I can't stand) and has somehow made it into the main stream. This is why my generation blows. First we allowed boy bands to become main stream. Now we are trying to make Smirnov Ice a cultural symbol. Sad times really.

Alrighty then. Thanks for the explanation. Good info in the unlikely event someone trys to "ice" me. Of course I would probably just tell where they could stick their "ice" and go grab me a Bud Light.

If there were such things as "Bud lighting" (same game with a bud light) it wouldn't be half as funny. The point is no one really wants to go on one knee and chug a Smirnoff. It's all part of the joke. Smirnoff being a girls drink makes it that much funnier.
