August 5, 201016 yr Well, the Mary part could apply to many non-Catholic Christian denominations as well. But as his statement is posed, technically he could be one of any number of non-Christian religions. I didn't realize there were any Christian denominations that didn't believe in the virgin Mary. Of course I am no theological expert.
August 5, 201016 yr I didn't realize there were any Christian denominations that didn't believe in the virgin Mary. Of course I am no theological expert. Only one of the Gospels says that she is, the others do not. As for me, it makes NO DIFFERENCE in my salvation whether or not she was virgin.
August 6, 201016 yr Author Luke 16 Jesus tells of a man in torment, he had the prophets 's teachings to listen to but he chose to ignore them. As a Christian telling someone of their Sin is not judging them, Eziekiek 3:15 says we are to Warn others and then its repeated. If you see a person sinning and not try to help then you are sinning. I mentioned that if I debate an nonbeliever and in the end we die and I go to Heaven and have eternal peace what does he gain? But if he is right and there is No God/no Salvation/no etertnal peace what did I gain? I would hate to think that some folks don't understand the word "Eternal". I will go to the fair with my bright red "Praise the LORD" cap and search out these folks. But remembe, quoting scripture does no good. They will just say I don't believe in the Bible. But I'll give it a good shot. I read a book called "90 minutes in Heaven". A man says he died and for 90 minutes he was there, but was sent back. I believe the Bible and this guy.
August 6, 201016 yr Only one of the Gospels says that she is, the others do not. As for me, it makes NO DIFFERENCE in my salvation whether or not she was virgin. My sentiments as well...I'm not entirely sure why it matters. Jesus could be just as special to me, do the same miracles even if his mother wasn't a virgin.
August 6, 201016 yr So when do you go to heaven? If I understand correctly it is not when you die but at the end of the world or second coming. So what is happening while you are dead and waiting?
August 6, 201016 yr So when do you go to heaven? If I understand correctly it is not when you die but at the end of the world or second coming. So what is happening while you are dead and waiting? An opportunity to fulfill all of our best and worst voyeuristic impulses?
August 6, 201016 yr An opportunity to fulfill all of our best and worst voyeuristic impulses? That is what I was hoping for!!

August 6, 201016 yr Isn't that kind of like saying, "well, just in case, I'll just believe in God; because, it's the better of two options"? Always have a Plan B.
August 6, 201016 yr Author BF...Huh? There are only two choices. The Bible is very clear what happens to a person who rejects the Gospel. I believe in God because I really have no choice. There is no other choice. But I think if there is no God/Heaven. I'm just equal with a non believer, so I have lost nothing. BUT ON THE OTHER HAND AND THERE IS A GOD AND A HEAVEN WHAT HAS HE LOST? I was not screaming there just some high tech preaching!

What if you are wrong and wasted your life believing and dedicating your free time to a lie?
August 6, 201016 yr Author "Wasted" is the key word. Thats a chance I will not take, will not even think any other way. I'm 100% sure my Faith is correct in what I was taught. This is thru of course the Bible/teachers & preachers/family members but the biggest reason is my own very life experinces. Now, a non believer can argue all the things I have mentioned here, but one thing he cannot and thats my life experinces. To see God work not only in my life but to be eyewitness to events and the way Jesus has worked right before my eyes, well no man thats a key word MAN, can change the way I see it. And along that is a desire to share what I have. I will respect the people at the fair, make them laugh and show them I love them, and in no way will I be mean and over bearing. Free time, I'm retired and spend at least two hours daily to doing something with my Faith. Every day I read/hear something I didn't know the day before. The Bible is the centerpiece. And is also the most read/sold book ever. Hope this helps you understand me better, and I have these life experinces I can share.

August 6, 201016 yr Author Not at all, man has a choice. I can talk to one of these at the Fair and maybe after we talk and they say "I think you are onto something, maybe I need to research this"..I wouldn't be surprised at all. Jesus talks about planting a seed, it being so small but it grows and is completely changed. I try to plant seeds every day, and have been planting seeds on here the last five years. Look, how many questions and great questions you ask. Hypocritical? Not at all.

I have always found it easy when something good happens that it's God's work. It's the tragedies that and all the pain and suffering that makes me wonder where God was. There is one example in particular that I have really struggled with and have a hard time understanding.
