Billboard message on I-65

BF...Huh? There are only two choices. The Bible is very clear what happens to a person who rejects the Gospel. I believe in God because I really have no choice. There is no other choice. But I think if there is no God/Heaven. I'm just equal with a non believer, so I have lost nothing.

BUT ON THE OTHER HAND AND THERE IS A GOD AND A HEAVEN WHAT HAS HE LOST? I was not screaming there just some high tech preaching!

Not at all, man has a choice. I can talk to one of these at the Fair and maybe after we talk and they say "I think you are onto something, maybe I need to research this"..I wouldn't be surprised at all. Jesus talks about planting a seed, it being so small but it grows and is completely changed. I try to plant seeds every day, and have been planting seeds on here the last five years. Look, how many questions and great questions you ask.

Hypocritical? Not at all.

So which is it?

Why do you have to warn people about their sin? Just show them God's love constantly and let them ask you why you act that way and what motivates you.

Your suggestion is spot-on, because after all, Jesus stated that love for God and people are the two greatest commands. He said that love will be the primary indicator by which non-Christians could identify Christians. You can't read about Jesus' life without seeing the importance (and example) of love.

However, I would add that sometimes love doesn't always motivate certain individuals. Speaking personally, when I was growing up, a lot of times I obeyed my parents because I loved them and I knew they loved me. But there were a number of times I was obedient to them due to fear of punishment. Sometimes fear is a last-line of defense, serving as the final motivating factor to turn someone from an undesirable fate. I think that's why the Bible tells us that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. Hopefully over time, God's love casts out that fear, but initially fear is sometimes the only thing that will get people's attention. Sad, but true.

I will say, however, that even when one presents a message of judgment, there's a way to do it and a way not to do it--like when I was a kid and the preacher would talk about Hell as though he were glad people would end up there.

Jim, the first highlited statement is meant for only me, where as "I" have no other choice because of my Faith and one verse I'll share Romans 8:28:29. Now the second one you highlited is simply man has a choice, all mankind. Jesus told about this in John 14:6.

Now the verse I shared if you read it is one that hardly any Preacher will do a sermon on. I might do a thread on this topic alone.

Just got back from Gary, IN; that might be a good "Plan B"??

Man has a choice. You are a man. Therefore, you have a choice. The alternate to what you have chosen might be incomprehensible to you, but it is still a choice.

That's exactly my point. That logic amounts to simply believing only to hedge your bets. Like, "What do I have to lose?"

Thanks. It just seemed like the natural choice.

:thumb: Talking to some atheist this was one of their biggest complaints, "The so called Christians telling us what to do and saying we are going to hell".

I guess they have a point there, many of them are sick and tired of humans trying to judge them and telling them what to do.

I agree with Acemona, show them God's LOVE! Don't judge or hate on them.

Asign just like this was along I-75 in downtown Cincy last year, I think it was the owner of the building who told the billboard company to move it, so they moved it to the Western Hill Viaduct. The group who paid for the billboard said that was okay, they understood.

SportsGuy, cannot speak for the folks you mentioned but only for my self. I have never told anyonme they are going to hell. But I have showed them hundreds of time where Jesus says it. Luke 16:19/ John 14:6 and have a lot more.

Judging others, I also have mentioned many times where the Bible says "If we don't warn others of their Sins their blood will be on who hands?" OURS. Eziekiel 3:16 To actually Judge someone, I do that but I try to watch it. Matthew 7:1 so I do Sin. Luke 24:44

Notice how I do my debating with scripture and not a man's think so's?

Larry, you are just parsing words. " I am not saying you are going to Hell, but the book that I believe is infallible says you are, here let me show you." How is that any different than you saying they are going to hell? Shall we go through all of the things the OT tells us to do that we don't do? Why just pick out that part. Here is what Jesus says - Love God and Love your neighbor. If your neighbor (who is everyman) asks for your coat give them yhour shirt as well and don't expect anything back. Jesus says to love your enemy. Jesus tells the rich young ruler - EVEN if you keep all of the commandments, that is not enough - sell everything you have and give it to the poor. Jesus says to feed the hungry, clothe the naked visity the prisoner - TAKE CARE OF THE STRANGER IN YOUR LAND. If I do all of these things, I don't have time to notice the sins of people, because I am too busy loving them.

Ace, we are no longer under the Old Law. Thats first and I have many verses if you want me to type them. Hebrews/Galatians is a good start for you.

Scripture does the talking, I just show them which ones. Nice try. :thumb: :thumb:

If that's the case, why is gay marriage such an issue?
