Ace, now you dont expect people to hold the Tea Party to their views since it happened so long ago? Folks on this board wouldn't do that to any liberal group would they?

Who was it yesterday that brought up to me that the New Black Panther rant happened 2 year ago?

I've got to be honest... I have NO IDEA what that guy was talking about.

This happened July 15th. Mark Wilson is the spokesperson/founder of the Tea Party Express.

responding to the NAACP resolution asking the Tea Party to distance itself from the "vocal minority" in its ranks who are racist.

Quote in the above article from Tea Party Express leader Mark Williams' open letter to Abraham Lincoln concerning the NAACP:

Dear Mr. Lincoln

We [National Association for the Advancement of] Colored People have taken a vote and decided that we don’t cotton to that whole emancipation thing. Freedom means having to work for real, think for ourselves, and take consequences along with the rewards. That is just far too much to ask of us [National Association for the Advancement of] Colored People and we demand that it stop!

He posted the letter online for anyone to read. Wow! If I were a member of Tea Party Express, I would be walking out the door immediately upon reading that.

Did you read the whole letter???? http://www.marktalk.com/blog/?p=10387

I didn't see the letter in that link. I saw a post by Mark Williams but I did not see the Letter to Lincoln from which the above quote came from. Are you telling me the quote from the letter is not accurate? If the quote from the letter to Lincoln is accurate, then Mark Williams is either a racist or he has terrible judgment and I wouldn't want to be part of any organization he leads.

I read the whole letter, both the original and the "touched up" version. I believe that Mr. Williams is attempting to use satire, but does a very poor job of it.

Jealous at least now knows they were barking up the wrong tree trying to paint the TEA Party as a racist organization and the NAACP is backing off their earlier comments...

And that is my point. He does such a poor job if it is satire, that he clearly is not a leader I could have any faith in.

The thing is, the NAACP never called the Tea Party Racist. What the resolution did was ask the tea part to distance itself and condemn the racist voices that are sometimes associated with the movement.

I would start with Mark Williams.
