June 22, 201016 yr My guess is Lee will go for $15M to $18M next year. He's not going to be a Red IMO. You're probably right, but the Yankees or Red Sox aren't in desperate need for a starter like they were in the past. If those two aren't bidding how high will the price actually go? They'll be in on him for sure, but will they break the bank for him?
June 22, 201016 yr I know he's only thrown 4-5 innings thus far, but I've been impressed with Smith. I'm especially glad to see him do well after all the grief his promotion was given by that moron/clown Lance on 1530...

I would also expect the Cardinals to go big .

We needed the help that is for sure.

Carpenter probably makes a pretty penny. Wainwright is probably due a raise soon. They've got a lot tied up in those four. Not sure they can afford dishing out 15 million for him. I could be wrong.

June 22, 201016 yr I missed that what was he saying about him? I have been impressed so far. We needed the help that is for sure. Basically just making fun of the fact that they would promote a guy that struggled to keep his ERA around 5 in AA over guys like Maloney, Wood, etc. He was joking about how he was going to struggle and not fair well, all the while admitting that he had never seen him pitch before.
June 23, 201016 yr Just like he planned. 6-4-3....This one belongs to the Reds. A win tomorrow and we can consider this a decent west coast trip.
June 23, 201016 yr Here we go again ... Arroyo was cruising with only 105 pitches but no Dusty had to get Cordero's confidence back up!! What's wrong with letting Arroyo try to complete a game? It's not like he puts a lot of strain on his arm. What's 120 pitches occassionally with him?

Arroyo might have told him he was done, who knows. Just because BA can throw 125 pitches doesn't mean you should let him all the time.

Even though there's an offday this week, the "Toothpick" will come up with something quirky, count on it! He will probably say he is happy winning 2 on the road trip and let a few guys take 2 days off.
