From what I have been told DSR is also going to St Ben's. He and Jaylen alone make them a big time team for the next 2 years...

I certainly don't spend my day learning about it but how much exposure do two kids who are already getting big offers need to get more offers? Are you telling me that a big college program isn't going to see them on the summer circuit? What's the incremental value?

Clyde may very well be smarter than that, but I'm probably not. So what exactly kind of exposure are high school kids looking for other than college offers? Future endorsement opportunities? A high school game on ESPN? I'm not sure what they could be looking for that would allow them to maintain their amatuer status.

Kids want as many eyes on them as possible. Is there any real doubt that you get more exposure at St Ben's than in Indy or Lexington? It's playing against the best as often as possible. No different that going to Oak Hill...

Think about it. They are good ball players and plan to play the game at the next level. If they want to be a good college player and possibly make it to the NBA would they be better off playing at Lex Cath and an Indiana High School or playing at St. Ben's where the competition will be much higher and they will imporve there game alot more. A big reason they go to places like that are exposure, but a lot of it has to do with the competition and becoming a better basketball player.

That's when the college coaches throw on their school gear and sit courtside for days on end watching kids play and making a determination as to their ability to play at State U. Going to NJ is not going to increase the number of offers any kid will get.

 

I'm sure Coach McLeod is telling him just the opposite but that's for purely selfish reasons - not for the best interest of the kid. Its simply not worth uprooting and moving away from your family and friends. It will not increase his college offers. Summer does that.

Maybe the kid simply likes the Jersey culture. Maybe he likes a bigger city to live in. Maybe he wants to work on his east coast vernacular. Cool. Those would be better reasons that trying to say he's going to get more opps or get better playing in NJ at the expense of leaving his family behind.
