Many said the same thing about Preston knowles and he proved everyone wrong. I too hope Pittman does the same.

Knowles has had a solid career. Yes, he proved many people wrong, but then again after the domestic incident, to some they were proved right.

How???

How'd Shanklin and Fant look? I read elsewhere about selfish play by Shanklin and Hickey, which.. wouldn't exactly surprise me. I would have hoped for more than 8 from Fant though.

Yea, beating down an old man isnt exactly the way to cap off a stellar career. LOL

They didn't do bad. All star games can be hard on players that play team ball, if you have others that are not. No coaching at all for the Juniors. Believe if they had been coached we would have seen more players involved and not so much one on one. On the other hand the coaches for the the Seniors were up and yelling instructions all the time.

Meanwhile, Indiana's seniors rip the Indiana juniors by a score of 125 to 89 led by Thomas.

I saw that the juniors won 92 - 78.

Well, Coach L has never been one to sit much during a game!!!

Wow.. Goldie I love your loyalty to the Clark County boys. It is a very odd time to say Knowles proved everyone wrong after beating up an old man after an argument with his girlfriend over a hairbrush.

Many said he would never see the floor or last a semester, that is what I was refering to. He proved them wrong.

I wasn't at the game so I can't comment, but for those who are downing Pittman because of ONE all star game, you obviously haven't seen him play much. It me doesn't surprise he was trash talking, that's just his game. He plays with a swagger. Some like it, some don't. It's never going to change but the kid has been first team all state the past two years, so not much you can say.

When the lights come on against the Indiana Sr. All Stars, you'll see a different player. This game meant absolutely nothing to him.

I really wasn't bringing the trash talking up to run the kid down. I know it is often and always has been a part of the game. I was just stating the facts. IMO though, it made Pittman look bad, as the trash talk was in response to Behanan taking it straight to Pittman and scoring on him as well as getting fouled. Not very smart to start mouthing after someone scores on you and gets the and 1. The other thing that made him look bad was that he couldn't back up the trash talk. He was out played and out physicalled by Behanan.

Again I know it is a part of the game, but I am not a fan of trash talking. What these kids will learn later in life, is that type of intimidation tactic will not take them very far in life and will not lead to any long term success.

In response to the question about Remy Abell;

I can't tell you other than it was an all star game where you get alot of one on one type play. Honestly I couldnt tell you what number the kid was weraring as I have not seen him play before. I will say this, I thought the Juniors had alot of talented players.

Good point. Just read an article that they are deciding today if they are going to press charges against him. I would say if they move forward with that the self defense argument doesn't look real good.

I've been around basketball a long time and to me trash talk just brings out the lack of character of the person using it. Players with character never uses trash talk.

I don't buy that blanket statement/generalization.

It really depends on what is being said.

I've never heard people question Larry Bird's character.

I don't know Larry Bird and don't know what kind of a person he is or was. Did you know him well. I'll stand by my statement saying it's very unnecessary. I coached high school basketball for over 20 years and never allowed my boys to use trash talk. You can teach them any way you like, but to me building character is more important than talking filth to an opposing player in a ball game.
