June 3, 201016 yr DARNIT!!!!!!!! ESPN reported ground ball to 2nd, I hit enter....BUT safe at 1st when he should have been called out. If a mod could delete this thread... : (
June 3, 201016 yr I really want to watch the umpire's post game press conference... A great catch to get the first out of the inning, but it'll definitely be overshadowed by that call.
June 3, 201016 yr Author OMG!!!!! That is an AWFUL call, he was EASILY out. Why not go to a review on a call like that???? If a mod could change the title to Armando "SHOULD HAVE" been awarded a perfect game. WOW, that was unbelievably awful. : (
June 3, 201016 yr HC jumped the gun a little lol. What an unfortunate turn of events for that young man. Definitely should have been out. Just another piece of evidence that will probably be used for advocates of instant replay in baseball.
June 3, 201016 yr That ump should be suspended or fined. Truely awful call and it was not even close.
June 3, 201016 yr That ump will be suspended. I would be surprised if he will be, which I don't think is right.
June 3, 201016 yr Author HC jumped the gun a little lol. What an unfortunate turn of events for that young man. Definitely should have been out. Just another piece of evidence that will probably be used for advocates of instant replay in baseball. I was so excited, two perfect games in a week. I'm listening to the people on ESPN since they didn't broadcast it live. They said groundball to 2nd, there is the throw and I hit enter and then, yeah, I did jump the gun. Oh well, what a sad, sad display of umpiring.
June 3, 201016 yr Author The clamor for instant replay will intensify. And rightly so. Thanks for the correction on the thread title, being a Sox fan, I hate Detroit. But I feel so sorry for that team and their fans. Just sad.
June 3, 201016 yr And folks wonder why so many people think officials are on the take. For the record, I don't think so. But to miss a call that clear, in that situation - I understand why many would have their suspicions.
June 3, 201016 yr Jim Joyce is the umpire in question. And now everyone will be able to talk about the only 28 out perfect game in MLB history! It's a new type of history, but history nonetheless.
June 3, 201016 yr Jim Joyce is the umpire in question. And now everyone will be able to talk about the only 28 out perfect game in MLB history! It's a new type of history, but history nonetheless. There have been 10 perfect games that have been broken up in the last out of the game.
June 3, 201016 yr There have been 10 perfect games that have been broken up in the last out of the game. And how many of them were so obviously wrong?
