May 31, 201016 yr These are absolutely unreal…He is still only 17 years old and is the unanimous # 1 pick next month. His agent is Scott Boras and is projected to get 8-10 million signing bonus and total deal 20-25 million. His JUCO is ranked 2nd in the country and they play in the best JUCO league. The amazing thing is the league is a wood bat league. Imagine his numbers with a composite/aluminum bat? He’s 6’3” 200 lbs and is projected to grow 2-3 more inches. Scouts are saying he is not MLB ready to catch yet but he could play RF for the Nationals this year. They will have Strausberg, Harper and Drew Storen as their closer. [10]. The next day, in a doubleheader, he went 2-for-5 with a three-run double in the first game, and in the second game went 6-for-6 with 4 home runs, a triple, and a double. [11]
May 31, 201016 yr I've seen video of him hitting soft toss 400' over the center field fence. That's hardcore.

June 2, 201016 yr Bryce Harper has been tearing it up for some time now. Before he left high school early, he hit one I think like over 520 or something like that in a high school national all-star home run derby. He also had a fastball in the 90's, but as alluded to, catching is his main squeeze so probably won't ever see him on the bump. I'm sure before too long though we will see him throwing out quite a few base runners.
June 2, 201016 yr Saw an article today where Boras is trying to pitch to teams that they play him somewhere in the field instead of catching.
June 2, 201016 yr Is he the kid from Vegas who dropped out of HS last season? I was just about to ask this. How is a 16/17 year old in Jr college?
June 2, 201016 yr ^ I was just going to say I doubt he will be catching long if he is that good of a hitter.
June 2, 201016 yr I was just about to ask this. How is a 16/17 year old in Jr college? Dropped out and skipped the last 2 years of high school to attend a junior college to get his GED. MLB says that if a kid drops out of high school, he has to wait one year to be eligible to be drafted. He went to junior college for this year.

MLB says that if a kid drops out of high school, he has to wait one year to be eligible to be drafted. He went to junior college for this year. I see.. not sure how I feel about that. Many pro athletes have blown 100 million dollar contracts. Hope he has a good supporting cast.
June 2, 201016 yr ^ I was just going to say I doubt he will be catching long if he is that good of a hitter. I keep saying that with Joe Mauer.

He's projected to get between 8 and 12 million dollars for a signing bonus. No one has ever cracked 10 million, I don't believe. Strasburg got 7.5 million.
