Unbelievable Behavior from Softball Coach

Are we really going to argue over drinking stuff out of a used shoe? I mean seriously...

No, I don't want my kids drinking out of a shoe. I really don't want my kids having a slumber party with a high school coach, either. Both of those are major no-no's and I'd have somebody's head on a platter, either way.

You're the one making a huge deal out of nothing....It's also not a "major no-no"....It's a stupid, harmless stunt that shouldn't be seen as anything more than a meaningless joke. Of course in today's ubersenstive society, it shouldn't shock me that someone would react the way you have.

LOL

This has become classic. When you have to explain to somebody you wouldn't want your daughter to drink out of a shoe what's next lol! I really started laughing when I read Wireman trying to explain that he didn't want his daughter to drink out of somebody's shoe! I'm with you brother!

From the article: The South Tahoe High School varsity players drank the soda at a team slumber party on May 1, hours after a game against Wooster High School of Reno, Nev.

One question - what was the coach doing at the slumber party??? Sounds like it might be a case of the coach wanting to be more of a friend than an authority figure.

I would hope that he's the parent of the girl having the slumber party. If not, then the coach has some issues IMO.

Well I see where the coach is a woman. That sheds a different light on it, but still a little weird IMO.

IMO it doesn't matter. A coach should never be at a slumber party.

The whole BIG PICTURE to me in all this....is the fact that all this no bullying, no hazing, peace and love movement in our country has produced a society of wimps! I mean if your kid can't stand up enough for themself to say HECK NO! I am not doing that!!! Then maybe they need a sip of shoe soda.............. People and kids are so soft anymore. Most of the successful people in the world I know have stood up to a bully or some kind of incident in thier life...Not their parents THEY did it.

Now on the slumber party......I am still baffled a coach thought it right to have a slumber party without at least other coaches there.

I can't figure out where the disconnect is on this one. Who would ever want one of their kids to drink out of a nasty shoe? I guess I'm getting old or something...

She sounds like one of those people who are old, but still think they're in high school. High school was probably the best time of her life, so she's afraid to let go fearing she may go into a life long depression.

That's what it sounds like to me.

For this story, I mostly have an issue with the coach being present at the slumber party.
