May 25, 201016 yr Magic (besides VC) played a great game. Series is still probably over, but it was nice to see a competitive game. Boston has to play better at the end of games. Save Ray Allen's shooting, Orlando really outplayed them over the last 8 minutes including overtime. Just seemed like Boston didn't care tonight.

Very unlikely Orlando can win 4 straight against Boston, but if they can win the next one, they can put some pressure on the C's to close it out at home in Game 6. You never know. Other than the Game 3 debacle, these games have gone to the wire. Orlando sure doesn't play smart at times. Two examples from late in last night's game...Boston swtiches on a pick and roll and Rajon Rondo is left defending Dwight Howard in the post. Instead of getting in front of Rondo and establishing position, Superman goes and hides under the backboard and Nelson throws the ball away. Second, the possession where Rashard Lewis doubles down on Glen Davis, leaving Ray Allen, and then Matt Barnes chooses to take away KG's open 18 footer instead of staying at home on Allen at the three point line. Dumb basketball.
May 25, 201016 yr That's why I made my statements earlier in the thread. It seems like the Laker's bigs have gotten tougher, but they've yet to face a team with even one legit post defender. The Celtics have 4. If Bynum doesn't play better the Lakers are going to have their hands full with the Celtics. I don't think they can beat them, if Bynum's only putting in 2 points and 2 rebounds. The Celtics take away what teams do best, and make others beat them. Kobe and Gasol will get theirs, but probably not at the excellent volume they get them now. I'm still thinking about it, but I think I might take the Celtics to beat the Lakers and do it convincingly. James Posey really hurt LA in the '08 finals. I don't see anyone on Boston's team that can give them what he did from the bench. Bynum's knee is a concern for the Lakers though. Phil was even suggesting he might sit out the next game against Phoenix. If he's out, or a non-factor, it puts a lot of pressure on Gasol and Odom. Bynum doesn't have to tear it up, but they need him to make his presence known and felt on a consistent basis, whether that's giving them a little offensive post production, rebounding or defending.
