From everything Ive heard, and the picture of him on the home page of BGpreps right now, Id have to say Micah Johnson. Now, going off of who Ive actually seee, then, that has to go to Will Fidler of Henderson, the kid is legit. Has a great arm, and most of all i was impressed with his overall athleticism, he can move and has some 'shiftyness' about'im.

Justin Burke...all around student athelete. Intelligent leader on an excellent LexCath team. He's currently posting stats which you'd expect from a Mr. Football

It'll come down to Johnson, Burke, and Fidler. I haven't seen any of them play but from what i have heard everyone of them is a legitimate mr. football.

I think Johnson in appearance and perceived talent will probably win it. He is without a doubt the best in the state. My only argument against him would be I don't think he is having a Mr. Football year. He isn't at the top for running back and hasn't really made a great deal of noise on the defensive side of the ball. A good deal of his hype is his natural ability and what he should accomplish at the next level. If you had to pick one kid that has the best chance of playing in the NFL one day it would be without a doubt him. Should he get Mr. Football, no. He isn't even in the top 20 for RB in the state.

As far as Burke and Fidler, if you look at stats it would have to be Burke hands down. He has put up incredible numbers this year. Fidler had a monster year last year but hasn't put the same type of numbers up this year. Probably due to tougher schedule. I think it will probably come down to these 3.

I agree Johnson looks the part better than any i have seen in along time, that blows my mind that he is not in the top 20 in the state.

Johnson is not, and never has been, primarily a running back. He is a linebacker that plays fullback in the offense, and linebacker is where he will play in college. It is by far his best position.

It's hard to draw a lot of attention on defense, but look at the point totals the Falcons have given up all season. Granted, most of their speed and talent is on the defensive side of the ball, but he is the anchor of the defense, which is among the best, if not the best, in Class 2A.

I won't argue this but I'll give you Burke's stats from the KHSAA:

Player Justin Burke

Games Played 9

Pass Attempts 243

Pass Completions 153

Interceptions 2

Net Yards 2524

Passing Touchdown 45

That's 45 TD's and 2 int's!!!!!!!

He is the most intelligent High School football player I have ever seen and that is saying A LOT! That isn't including what he could do if he wanted to run!

Micah Johnson won this award before the season was ever started with all the college hype and potential at the next level. Not that i dont agree that he is a great player but i think that Justin Burke is having the best year of anyone else in the state. Johnson will win it unless Burke makes good showings in the playoffs against the likes of Highlands and Covington Catholic. Havent seen him play but heard that he is the real deal. Maybe he has proved himself against good competition already cause i really dont know but unless he has solid games against the above teams in the playoffs i dont see him taking Micah Johnson cause he is the best Inside Linebacker in the nation according to many prep scouting magazines and colleges.

I don't think Mr.Football should be won on your potential at the next level. It should be won based on ur performance in your senior season. With that said, Justin Burke in my mind is the hands down favorite for Mr.Football. His stats are out of this world, and he is showing why so many colleges were after him

Could not choosing Kentucky hurt Justin Burke in getting Mr.Football????

No Shawn Alexander chose Alabama when he was MR FOOTBALL

The best player in KY has to be Micah Johson. He is ranked number one at inside linebacker by ESPN, and is ranked among the nation's best players in many recruiting agencies. However, this does not secure the Mr. Football victory for Johnson. Mr. Football usually goes to the biggest standout senior in KY, with a lot of regard to statistics. This may not be how it is voted on officially, but this is how it seems to me. Right now I'd say Justin Burke has a shot at Mr. Football. He has the stats, and has signed with a big named school.

My vote would go to Johnson, with Burke as runner-up.

I'd have to say Micha Johnson, Justin Burke, or Teddy Thompson!
