May 7, 201016 yr The problem is this with the money they make. Most of it goes back to MX to their families instead of being spent in USA. This hurts our econmy. Do I blame them, NO, do I like it NO. Make them legal so they can pay their share of taxes.
May 7, 201016 yr Author Are illegal immigrant voters a very large segment of voters? I hope not. How can an illegal legally vote anyway?
May 7, 201016 yr Are illegal immigrant voters a very large segment of voters? They will be if Obama gets his way..
May 7, 201016 yr Commando...you are cracking me up. You are so obsessed with Obama I think you may make the CIA watch list if you keep it up.
May 7, 201016 yr Make them legal so they can pay their share of taxes. Do they not make any purchases? Many people propose a fair tax that would basically be a large sales tax. If those illegals were paying their fair tax (which would be difficult to avoid), would it be okay for them to remain in the country? Are we more concerned with their citizenship or with their lack of taxes being paid?
May 7, 201016 yr I don't care where they spend their money. They are breaking our laws by being here. The feds need to do their freakin jobs and deport them.
May 7, 201016 yr I don't care where they spend their money. They are breaking our laws by being here. The feds need to do their freakin jobs and deport them. Understood. But I believe most people mention the lack of paying taxes as their biggest problem with the immigrant population. But as I mentioned, if there was a national sales tax only, would people be as upset with the number of immigrants? Would they care as much if they were illegal?
May 7, 201016 yr Author This is why I say send them back http://www.cairco.org/econ/econ.html Remittances $60 billion dollars are earned by illegal aliens in the U.S. each year. One of Mexico's largest revenue streams (after exports and oil sales) consists of money sent home by legal immigrants and illegal aliens working in the U.S. Economists say this will help Mexico reduce its $17.8 billion defecit. Illegal alien households are estimated to use $2,700 a year more in services than they pay in taxes, creating a total fiscal burden of nearly $10.4 billion on the federal budget in 2002. * Among the largest federal costs: Medicaid ($2.5 billion); treatment for the uninsured ($2.2 billion); food assistance programs ($1.9 billion); the federal prison and court systems ($1.6 billion); and federal aid to schools ($1.4 billion). * If illegal aliens were legalized and began to pay taxes and use services like legal immigrants with the same education levels, the estimated annual fiscal deficit at the federal level would increase from $2,700 per household to nearly $7,700, for a total federal deficit of $29 billion. * Because many of the costs are due to their U.S.-born children, who are awarded U.S. citizenship at birth, barring illegals themselves from federal programs will not significantly reduce costs.
May 7, 201016 yr Serious question that might be in the wrong thread: If Illegal Person A is stopped for a violation, is there documentation to prove that they are taking steps toward citizenship?
May 7, 201016 yr Serious question that might be in the wrong thread: If Illegal Person A is stopped for a violation, is there documentation to prove that they are taking steps toward citizenship? Don't know but doesn't matter. If they are here illegally then any steps taken towards citizenship should be void. Once they are deported they are welcome to start over with the process legally.

Why not go after the businesses that hire the illegal aliens? All I seem to hear is going after the illegals (which is fine) but if you cut off the money supply that entices them over the border, I guarantee that flood will become more of a trickle. :thumb:

Some propose that we round up 9 million people and "send them back." That's an impossible task. However, if you take away their incentive for being her (employers that hire them) then they won't come. Even better, let's put GWB's plan for a "guest worker" in place, which if I recall, allows them to be here, but takes a percentage of their wages to pay for healthcare, education, etc. After so long as a guest worker, they can start the process for citizenship, if they chose. This is NOT amnesty. My biggest issue with the whole thing centers around the kids. As a teacher, I have had students who came with their families as a very young age. It a two year old is in the US for 16 years with his/her family, do we really expect them to walk back across the border to Mexico and find a life there? Likely, the kid has become educated, is multilingual and has acclimated to one of our local cultures. Can he/she become a responsible US citizen? He/she made no choice to come her illegally. Should they be punished for their parents' mistakes?
