It's be amazing the effect it's have if he sat BP down a couple games. He is known by most as the Reds best players and one of the untouchables. You sit him down and all those young guys see it and I bet the yougsters and Phillips himself turn a new leaf.

Dusty has sat him before.
May 5, 201016 yr I don't think it changes anything, he's been like this his whole career. Dusty has sat him before. Then sit him some more. It doesn't happen in today's world of massive guranteed contracts, but man a good manager demands hustle and respect. If he doesn't get it he takes matters into his own hands. People like Lou Pinella and Tony LaRussa don't win for nothing. Granted LaRussa doesn't sit people often, but you never see his team take a play off either. He weeds those guys out before the regular season. Best interest for Cincinnati is to part ways with both Phillips and Baker IMO.

May 5, 201016 yr Votto single then caught stealing.. I like to see Votto running, but whats his stats on it this year? Seems like he's been caught quite a bit.

I used to say with his talent and big smile he could be the cornerstone of a Reds dynasty. He got a big contract and hasn't been the same since. I will admit though, I am biased. I am a baseball nut and demand to see the game played the right way. Unfortunately for Phillips that includes hustling.
