May 5, 201016 yr For comparison, Dunn is at 25%. Hey, for the record, I am not the one to bring Adam Dunn's name back into this discussion. Still think the Reds would be better off with him.
May 5, 201016 yr Masset puts the Mets away in the 8th. Masset pitches a perfect 8th  4-3 Reds, bottom of 8 Nice 1,2,3 inning for Masset. Think GT posts "Masset stinks?":D:D:D:D
May 5, 201016 yr He just lacks the plate discipline right now, hopefully being in the big leagues a while longer will help with that...He had high strikeout totals in the minors, too ... more than you would like from a prospect.
May 5, 201016 yr Author I'm guessing Francouer got a sac fly, game is tied at 4, two outs Coco blows it :ohbrother: going to the bottom of the 9th, tied at 4
May 5, 201016 yr Yes ... Ortiz's numbers started to decline at age 32, a not-uncommon occurrence in baseball history, especially for guys of his skill set and body type. Frank Thomas and Carlos Delgado, who have similar body types, have no history of PED's and didn't experience that drastic of a change in productivity...
May 5, 201016 yr Frank Thomas and Carlos Delgado, who have similar body types, have no history of PED's and didn't experience that drastic of a change in productivity... Thomas and Delgado were no where close to the same body type as Ortiz....Both those guys were/are pure muscle. Ortiz, not so much. His wrist injury back in 08' also has played a big role in his decline IMO.
May 5, 201016 yr Frank Thomas and Carlos Delgado, who have similar body types, have no history of PED's and didn't experience that drastic of a change in productivity...First of all, how do you know they don't have such a history? And every player is different. Thomas was a good enough athlete to play tight end at Auburn. Delgado was a catcher in the minor leagues. Ortiz has never been anything but a big, lumbering first base or designated hitter type. I dare say they're not very similar to Ortiz's body type and skill set. I didn't say all players experience it. I only said it isn't uncommon.

Since its a commonality, who else went from one of the league's best hitters to an awful hitter in one or two years?
