Monster shot by Votto and it keeps Leake in line for the win.

Another head scratching move by Dusty today. Leake gives up 3 in the 7th, and the Cubs take a 3-2 lead. Hernandez leads off the bottom of the 7th with a double which brings up Leake to the plate with nobody out. Now Leake had pitched a great game, with the homer to Colvin in the top of the inning his only blemish, and was at only 91 pitches. Now most managers would have pinch hit for Leake with the tying run at 2nd, and nobody out. Dusty decides to live Leake in the game, and try to sacrifice the runner to 3rd. If you're going to do that, why leave your slowest runner in the game at 2nd? Why not pinch run for Hernandez? Dusty leaves Hernandez in the game, and sure enough Leake lays down a bunt, and Ramon is thrown out at 3rd. That leaves Leake at 1st, and now one out. Cabrrera follows with a hit to right, and that now leaves runners at 1st and 2nd with one out. Dusty then decides to pinch run for Leake.

Why?

I'm at a loss trying to rationalize many of the man's moves.

Of course, Lou was bad today as well. Allowing Dempster to throw to Votto with the lefty ready in the pen was strange. I would have forced JV to hit the lefty there. Lou was as bad as Dusty today.

Another 4-2 week for HC.

Lou knows had bad the bullpen is. Cant blame him at all
