He may not have always given a straight answer (after all he was a politician), but they did have access to him. I knew that there was a dropoff with Bush, but looks like he was pretty active. But to think that Bush did around 3 times as many Q&As than Obama is quite a bit staggering. Clinton may have been the best politician in the last century. He was masterful thinking on his feet. I doubt I've seen anyone better. Compared to the stammering of Bush and Obama sans teleprompter might inflate his abilities a bit though...

Very close second was Reagan who used his acting abilities greatly as President. Also had a quick wit. Remember when Reagan was shot and wheeled into the surgery room, he asked the doctor if he was a Republican or a Democrat.

While somewhat amusing, I also always found that statement pretty sad, because it showed that Reagan was little more than a partisan hack just like all the rest of the clowns in Washington.

Really? I never, ever took that comment to be more than just an attempt to be lighthearted during a very difficult time.

At that time I was young and knew no better and voted straight party line like my Democrat parents. So, I bought the package from the Democrats that Ronald Wilson Reagan (666 in initials) was the Anti-Christ. Long before Obama was the Anti-Christ. Voted for Mondale in 1984, the first year I could vote and Dukkakis in 1988. That said, I thought it was pretty cool how after being shot and wheeled into the operating room, he could still have a sense of humor.

Some have a liberal point of view and will look to criticize Reagan and other republican presidents as much as possible. Some people are very conservative and won't give democratic presidents any credit either. It is sad.
