KY Select completed pool play with a victory and ran their pool record to 3-0. Championship Bracket play begins tomorrow morning at 8:30. Good Luck in bracket play boys. After being down by 6 at the half this morning, they responded in a big way with a 25-0 run to start the second half.

The guys won again this morning to move their record to 4-0 in the National Tournament. Beat a team from San Fran, CA. Have now moved into the final 32. Next game will be at 2:30 today. A win there puts them into the Sweet 16. Starting to play very well.

Nice run hits a speed bump. The KY Select/Tarheels lose to the Juice All-Stars from NY. KY Select was up at the half by 13 and went ice cold in the 3rd quarter only scoring 3. They will attempt to start a new run in the 2nd Consolation Bracket. If they can win this bracket, they would finish 7th in the tournament.

Hatton, Quan Palmer, Jalen Avery, Zach McNeil, Zach McCormick, Drew Barker, Nick True, Tanner Moeves, Aaron Morgan, Jalen Beal and a kid from GCL (unsure of his name). Roman Empire - Who did I miss?

Seems to be lots of misinformation regarding Brandon's age. He is 15 years, born in 1995. I think he seems older to people because he has played up for all of his youth career, and he can play with older kids easily. The U14 division allows (3) exemption players, and he is one of three on the Tarheels. Beginning next year, there will be no limit on exemptions for this team. I have heard his aged discussed, and it ranges from 15-19. Very funny.

Technically he should be going into 10th grade so if that is the case then he is likely 15. If it was 4 seasons ago, he would have been a 5th grader going into 6th. Since the Sr division is 7th/8th grade kids maybe he just played up a year due to his athleticism. Or maybe he is older than we think. This isnt the forum for that though.

You got em all. The kid from the GCL is Taylor Lee. He will be attending Elder. They also had some guest players for Nationals due to some injuries. Quentin Snyder, Trey Grundy, and Jordan Greene joined them in Orlando. McCormick, Moeves did not attend, and McNeil is coming off of a broken bone in his hand.

That is quite the pickups! I've not seen Grundy play this year, but Snyder's improvement over the past 2 years has been awesome! Jordan Greene has turned into a very good wing who can also play the post.

That stinks. They are a talented group of athletes. Any word on the roster shakeup right before nationals? Did the addition/subtraction impact the results?

 

I think Snyder played with those guys before but Grundy and Greene may be new (?).

Boys started the AAU Super Showcase in Orlando. They have advanced to the Final Four, and now have an overall record of 10-2 on their FL road trip. Good Luck.
