April 25, 201016 yr Northern KY Tar Heels 8th Grade (14U) Won AAU KY State today. If anyone has detail please add...:dancingpa
April 25, 201016 yr WOW! What a team. They went 6-0 to win state and won by double digits in every game. This is a very good basketball team, and these kids are so much fun to watch. Not one dimensional whatsoever. Lots of weapons and can play fast or run half court sets. Looks like playing against the 9th graders has paid off. Should make a nice run at Nationals once again in July. Scary to say, but I think they could have played better with Pouncy there, and that is in no way meant to disrespect Ryan, he did a great job coaching this weekend. Congratulations to each and every one of these young men. Hard work does pay off.
April 25, 201016 yr Aren't these virtually the same kids that will suit up for Holmes next year as 8th graders? The team that went 25-2 this past year in the middle school league?
April 25, 201016 yr Author Aren't these virtually the same kids that will suit up for Holmes next year as 8th graders? The team that went 25-2 this past year in the middle school league? Only a handful of players will be at Holmes, they have players from Dixie, Walton, Highlands and others... Really good team!

These kids will be freshman in the fall. Current 8th graders. I believe only one player on this team (Palmer) will be attending Holmes.

How could Pouncy have made them play better? Would they have beaten everyone by triple digits?
April 26, 201016 yr A lot of the other top players in the state where playing in Akron, OH at the King James Classic. I still think the Tar Heels would have been the team to beat, but I would guess that they had an easy time based on some of the people I saw playing in Akron who where not in Lexington.
April 26, 201016 yr Hoop Dreams 10/u won the King James Classic going undefeated and beating the defending national champs twice.
April 26, 201016 yr Wrong group Walter. These kids will be freshman in the fall. Current 8th graders. I believe only one player on this team (Palmer) will be attending Holmes. Jaylen Avery will also be attending Holmes. He's the younger brother of former Holmes' pg's Braeon and BJ Avery.

They combined D1 with D2 since there were only 3 teams that signed up for D1. That being said they were by far the best team in the tournament this weekend and I'm sure would battle any team for the state title, they are a very nice group of players. There has been mention of 2 kids going to Holmes on this thread, what about Beal? Any relation to Holmes great Dickey? Where can we watch these boys play in high school? #12 - Zach McNeil-Walton #33 - Brandon Hatton-Dixie #24 - Jaylen Beal-? #4 - Jaylen Avery-Holmes #31 - Aaron Morgan-? #10 - Kuan Palmer-Holmes #32 - Nick True-Highlands #34 - Tanner Moeves-Walton #20 - Drew Barker-Conner #22 - Taylor Lee-Which Cincy HS #1 - Zach McCormick-where in Wilmington?
