As has been said on here before it's easy to judge this sitting in KY. I'm not sure if the new law will help or hurt the situation. I feel bad for the people on here who mentioned being pulled over or stopped by cops when they think they were b/c of race but:

 

What if it was your family member mowed down on his own property close to the border?

 

 

What if it was your son murdered in Cincinnati anout a year or so ago by an illegal while he was trying to help a friend?

 

What if your 64 year old family member was raped by a 14 year old illegal, also in Cincinnati?

 

These are just a few examples. Most of us really don't understand how bad it is there. If 30-35 year old white guys were going around committing a majority of crimes in the NKY area I'd expect cops to look at me different. I might not like being asked for an ID, but I'd understand it. I could take a step back and understand why all of that happened. I have no idea if this new law will help. I just know the police and citizens there seem to need and want help.

Then when called out on it, he rephrased. I am not saying all Republicans are racists but if you are a racist, you are probably a Republican."

After reading through all this the only part that makes sense in the punishing companies for having illegal workers. Other than that I don't see what this law provides that we don't already have. Obviously something needs to be done if the people of Arizona are in favor of it to the tune of 77%. Someone said the majority of the population there is Hispanic. I wonder what % of them were in favor of this?

Which has been a point brought up by the Arizona governor who officially signed this bill. She is attempting to force the President to take some serious steps in securing the border. But he, like the previous presidents want to play politics (i.e. your family will be questioned when buying ice cream ) with this matter and I do not see him doing much. We do not see it because we do not live there, but it has become absolute chaos with illegal immigrants in Arizona.

That is a flawed way of saying what the law states. I will not deny that I have some hesitancy when it comes to the implications, but that is not a fair way to word it.

:thumb: They should not care.... the debate comes in at what point is it acceptable to request such documentation. It has been blown way out of proportion as to when proof will have to be shown.

If you're a law abiding citizen in Vermont and there were major issues w/ illegal whites committing crazy amounts of crimes I would hope you wouldn't have a problem. I know it's easy to sit back and say "I wouldn't have a problem w/ it", but I really wouldn't have a problem w/ it. Do you know of any times a person was pulled over after midnight when they didn't have a single drink and probably didn't deserve to be pulled over? Did it bother them terribly that officers were trying to protect citizens? It really wouldn't bother me.

Breaking it down to the very base, isn't that what Americans think of the illegal immigrants? Even though many of those immigrants do the jobs that no Americans would think below them?
