Do You believe in Aliens?

Featured Replies

I'd say that most of us agree that much of the talk about aliens is probably a little too far-fetched to be true. I don't know that I'll ever believe stuff like Roswell or Area 51 stuff, but they had a few shows on the possibilities of alien contact thousands of years ago with many different civilizations from the ancient world.

Among they things they found were toy air planes, which is odd for civilizations from over 2000 years ago. When these planes were built in bigger versions to scale with the original, they all flew. Ancient people in India wrote about flying machines, and research has shown that it's very likely people experimented with electricity way before Edison. The shows on history channel attributed all of kinds of stuff to visitors from another planet thousands of years ago.

Not saying that aliens exist, but it was an interesting show to say the least.

Yes, but not in the sense that most think. If it's anything living that exists on another planet, it's an alien. I believe bacteria, and possibly plant life exist on other planets, but not anything that resembles human life.

I definitely believe that life exists else where in the universe. I don't necessarily think they have the technology to come here.

I just can't believe that there is anything else out there other than bacteria or trees, but there is no human explanation for the stuff they talked about. Stonehenge, the Aztec temples, and the Pyramids in Egypt make me stop and wonder. I just don't know how they could have possibly aligned them perfectly to represent the solar system and I don't know how they knew so much about astrology.

I think that the universe is just too large and has too great a possibility for life for there not to be intelligent life on other worlds. There are billions and billions of stars... I have to believe that somewhere, even if far off in the outer reaches of the cosmos, there is at least one small star with one small planet with at least some sort of civilization on it.

That said, I've never seen anything that's convinced me that beings from another planet have visited this one.

I am a hands on person. Until I see a ghost or an alien in front of me or at least in the sky, I don't believe in it.

I don't believe in aliens. I don't believe life exists anywhere in the universe aside from earth.:idunno:

The artifacts, paintings, writings and descriptions do nothing for you?

It's a pretty arrogant way of looking at it to think we're it, and that's that. It seems like the odds against there not being other humanoid life somewhere else would be astronomical (no pun intended).

And besides, I run into people daily of whom I'm convinced come from another planet, given some of the things that come out of their mouths.

I defiently think there are others out there. There has to be, it's just too big of a space for nothing.

Not really. I think that the ancient world has many wonders whose secrets have been lost to time. There's evidence to suggest that the great Library at Alexandria had a working model of a steam engine almost 2,000 years before Western Civilization came up with it again. I have always been hesitant to discount the wisdom of ancient scholars and engineers simply because too much of what they knew was lost after Greece and Rome fell.

I defiently think there are others out there. There has to be, it's just too big of a space for nothing.

Exactly. Plus, it seems it would be kind of wasteful and pointless for God to create something so expansive that nobody else can appreciate or access.

Odds are there are 100000000s of other life forms out there and 1000000s of intelligent life forms. Space is so vast that it is difficult for the human brain to comprehend it. One light year is about 5.7 Trillion miles. The "observable" universe is approximated at something like 13.7 Billion light years across... Almost 16 sextillion miles in diameter and 2.1275536308264 x 10^69 cubic miles... That is enough to bake my noodle. Seems like an awful waste of space if we are it.

That may be the strongest evidence for alien life. :D

I've always joked that Babe Ruth had to be an alien. Nothing else explains his numbers compared to the rest of baseball at the time!
