April 21, 201016 yr Good thing they won, this would of been a crushing loss. I was thinking the same thing.
April 21, 201016 yr Homer still has a good chance of becoming a good #3/4 but I think #2 is his upside, if he really puts it together. But he has polishing to do, if the Reds are trying to contend that is tough. They don't have to worry about that this season. They don't have the team to do it. The best thing would be to leave him in the rotation all season and see if he is going to be able to make it as a big leaguer.

That is the one thing the Reds have going for them if they are out of it at All Star break. Can develop Bailey, Chapman, Leake and Cueto further.

I think that's what they need to focus on. They've got some really nice looking young players, now they need to let them learn to play at a big league level. They also might be able to pick up a few more young players by trading away some veterans at the deadline. I don't think they've got the roster to make a run this season and I don't think they should sacrifice the development of the youngsters to play veterans that won't be around when they are ready to contend.

I'd stop Bailey & Cueto at about 175 innings. I'd stop Leake & Chapman at 130 or so. I'd trade Harang for whatever I could get. I'd actively shop Francisco Cordero.

April 21, 201016 yr I sure am glad the Reds have that awesome Nick Masset in their bullpen... Masset's a stud though.... Really? You're going to judge Masset based on 8 games over what he's done the last year and a half. And yet I'm not surprised.
April 21, 201016 yr All six wins in their last AB, and still no wins from a SP. These two stats are remarkable.
April 21, 201016 yr Really? You're going to judge Masset based on 8 games over what he's done the last year and a half. And yet I'm not surprised. Not judging him at all. Just stating that the Masset the Reds have gotten thus far this season, isn't the Masset some on here have been praising...
April 21, 201016 yr Author Not judging him at all. Just stating that the Masset the Reds have gotten thus far this season, isn't the Masset some on here have been praising... Do you realize how good Masset's numbers have been in Cincinnati? He's pitched less than 9 innings this year. He's given up a grand slam & a 3 run homer. He's been roughed up a bit. Of course his numbers won't be great. Give me a break.

April 21, 201016 yr Author Yes I do. Do you and the rest of Reds fans realize how horrid they were before he got to Cincy? Yup. I also know that he dominated last season. I don't expect him to match those numbers, but he's better than what he's pitched thus far.
April 21, 201016 yr Yup. I also know that he dominated last season. I don't expect him to match those numbers, but he's better than what he's pitched thus far. Based on his numbers last season? I mean if we're going to use the past to judge a player, shouldn't we use his entire past?
April 21, 201016 yr Stubbs needs to go back to AAA he isn't ready. Average down to .146 .255 OBP 17 K's in 41 AB just not going to get it done in the leadoff spot. He is 2 for his last 29.
