Dallas is done. They had no composure tonight. This was a perfect display of why San Antonio has won championships this decade and why Dallas has not. San Antonio is smart and physical and I think they could be a very serious contender in the West. I'll admit I was wrong about Dallas. It should have been obvious you don't add half of the Washington Wizards and suddenly become a contender.

How many times have the Spurs won a playoff game with Duncan totaling one bucket? The series isn't officially over but only 8 teams have ever come back to win a series down 3-1, a 4% clip.

I think that's really how it should be. I like Big Z but he really cannot contribute on the level that Shaq, Jamison, Varajao and Hickson can. I'm glad LeBron was more vocal about getting Hickson some minutes. I don't see how he only played 3 or 4 minutes total in the first 3 games.

You mentioned how he didn't. 96 minutes total at the #4 and 5 position during a single game. YOu have Varajao, who needs to play. Shaq who needs to play and Jamison who needs to play. Divide the minutes among those 3 equally and you have 32 minutes a night. Whose minutes you going to substantially decrease for Hickson to get minutes?

Okay, but honestly, I think Vara and Jamison needs to play more than 32 minutes and would prefer to give those 10 minutes to them two than Hickson. ESPECIALLY during the times that James is on the bench, I would want them two on the floor.

No doubt. But it's crazy to act like Hickson wasn't a huge part of their success this season, after all he started 73 games this year. He allows them to play small or play big, he's just a good fit out there. Varajao needs to back up Shaq and Hickson needs to back up Jamison. The more minutes Varajao plays the less effective he gets because he's all hustle. 32 minutes is good for him, any more than that and he becomes a liability...see last postseason for example. Jamison was much needed because he's a very good #2 or #3 option on offense, but he's a defensive liability in the post. I think 32 minutes keeps him fresh, remember he's 33 years old. There is no reason to wear out Shaq and Jamison against the Bulls. To get to where the Cavs want to go they need those two ready to go for rounds 2 and hopefully 3 & 4.

 

He's the most athletic of the bunch. He doesn't clog the lane like Shaq, is a better finisher at the rim than Varajao and is stronger defender in the post than Jamison. He's their 4th best option in the post but he brings things to the table that the others do not, and he's extremely dangerous with LeBron. JMO, but wait and see if he doesn't come up huge this post season if the Cavs have success.

Z isn't getting minutes b/c they've gone small some and played LBJ at the 4 or 5. They are pretty much unguardable when they go small. Shaq is w/ the Cavs to help beat one team. He'll see them in two rounds.

He might. I can't imagine that the Cavs will say they can afford him. If LeBron wants to stay, the Cavs will pay for whoever they can get and pay top dollar for it. The Cavs are barely going to break even this season because Gilbert is still paying off loans from when he bought the team, but I think that I read that LeBron single handedly raises the value of the Cavs by 2 or 3 hundred million per season.

 

Shaq to the Thunder would be interesting though, and if he left I'd have to think that would be one of the places he'd consider.

Shaq will not be in Cleveland next year. I think he retires no matter what happnes. Honestly he brings very little to the table now. If anything the Cavs are better without him IMO.
