HT, you're right. I thought they owned a lottery pick, but they do not. Just two first round picks.

IF (and that is a mighty big IF) Lebron's elbow is a serious injury, the Celtics could send the Cavs home. I think this is the series that the Celtics have been looking towards on the Eastern side of the playoffs.

That ties with Bynum catching the ball right at the basket IMO. Kobe on Westbrook made a huge difference. Let's face it though last night proved that LA should and probably will win this series. OKC would have a great shot at taking down any other team in the West, but they don't have the experience to counter Kobe or the inside strength to stop Bynum and Gasol.

 

However I think I'm going to take the winner of the Spurs-Mavs series to win the West, especially if the Spurs win that series. But if the Cavs make the finals I want the Lakers, I just don't think Gasol and Bynum are consistent enough to carry them there with a Kobe that's less than 100%.

 

I disagree. Tim Duncan has played awful the whole series and Ginobli is shooting 26% since he broke his nose. The Spurs should win the series as any team that has two guys in their starting lineup that played for the Wizards in the same season will not make it past round 2 anyways. Either way it goes, I don't think the Spurs or Mavs will be consistent enough to beat the Lakers, Jazz or Suns in 7 games.

I don't think the Jazz will have enough magic to get through the Lakers in round two. I can't imagine the Suns beating either the Spurs or Mavericks. I think the Spurs defense is really underrated right now. Ginobili will get used to that nose guard he wears. JMO.

As a Laker fan, the Spurs don't scare me. Especially after last night. I don't see them beating the Lakers in 7 games. Suns and Jazz really don't scare me either. Mavericks definitely don't scare me. The only team that I think actually believes they can beat the Lakers in 7 games are missing their head coach, in complete disarray and 1 game away from elimination. Go Jazz!!!!!

However a meeting with the Jazz could be interesting IMO because I see it like this. The Lakeshow have no answer for Deron Williams. Fisher on him would be a joke, he would embarrass Farmar, and it would be suicide for the Lakers title chances to have Kobe guard him for an extended period of time if the Jazz could push it to 6 or 7 games. I think Boozer, Milsap and co. on the inside are much better suited to guard the Laker bigs than the undersized Thunder. I actually think the Jazz are better without AK47 and Okur because they aren't soft anymore.

 

The Spurs are savvy. Sure they're old and aren't what they used to be, but let's face it they are probably the team in the West best suited to guard LA on the inside, though I could see Odom being somewhat of a problem. Ginobili will be fine by then, and he's going to require Kobe to play on both ends. I love George Hill's game, and where Tony Parker comes off the bench the Lakers have no answer at guard in their second unit.

 

I think the Lakers win the West, but I think their next two series are going to be tough, not to mention Orlando, Cleveland or Boston in the Finals if they get there. JMO, and I can't wait for the 1st round series to be over so the playoffs can actually start.

All the talk of Atlanta maybe ready to take that next step and they lose Game 5 at home and on the verge of being knocked out in the 1st round.

I agree. This is the most pathetic playoff showing by a team that I can remember IMO. Credit has to go to Skiles and the Bucks, but the Hawks deserve to lose this series.

I look for both Dallas and Portland to force game seven's tonight in their series.

Charles Barkley really called Atlanta out last night. They showed a video clip of a timeout late in the game and I don't believe there was a single player paying attention to the coach. They were looking in the stands, looking in different directions but not paying attention to what the coach was drawing up.
