Isn't that one of the people they are rumored to be extremely interested in? He would be a good fit too, I think he'd just take a little longer to get adjusted than Cousins or Favors. He is more realistic though.:thumb:

With everyone and there mom entering the draft this year they have a chance to maybe pick up a solid center to help out. They are giving the Lakers everything they want.... at home.

 

Actually, tonight OKC is looking like they may be the best team. The young Thunder are running the Lakers ragged.

Also LBBC, I never said they didn't have cap space. They don't have enough for a max free agent though without making moves. One thing you have to figure in is their two first round picks. That's going to take probably about 2-3 million off their cap number. So that 15 (at best) automatically shrinks to 12 before they can sign anyone, unless I'm totally off base with that, but after some research I'm almost positive their picks this year count against their cap space for the off season (I think that it was also a reason for NY moving their 1st round pick this year). They are probably going to have around 9-10 million to spend.

DWade signing for less than a max deal? I don't know. If they have 15 million to spend they are still about 3 million short a max deal. So a sign and trade would be needed, but I don't think the Thunder A) would want Wade over a big man, B) would give up the necessary pieces to the Heat to get the deal done. Other teams are going to have more to offer in a sign and trade. It's possible but not likely is what I'm saying. Nice try though man :thumb:.

All of this is kind of pointless. DWade and Durant like to shoot way too much to want to play with each other for 82 plus games a year IMO. Alot of things would have to happen before they could play together. And don't you think the Thunder would be more likely to go after Bosh, Amare, Boozer, or David Lee to fill the huge void in their front court?

 

The two first round picks would be huge to offer for Wade, but the Thunder really like to build through the draft like they have with their young 4. I'm just skeptical because Wade could go home to Chicago or stay in Miami and have a big man come to him. The Heat with Bosh/Amare are pretty close to a contender in the East I think, so why go and play on Durant's team?

Also LBBC, Pro Athletes haven't been able to think rationally since the pay scale has increased over the last 20-25 years. If DWade were 33, I could see it. You, me, and most on this board would take 14-15 million per year and create one of the best duo's in the NBA's history with Durant if we were Wade. After all who knows how much he gets paid for all those ads he's in.

 

But, guys want their own team (Kobe is one instance), I guess because of legacy. And they want those max deals while they can get them. DWade is older than LeBron, Melo, Durant, Bosh and other young guys so he's got to get paid big while he can I think. JMO.

At home. This series may go 7 games and I wouldn't shocked if the Lakers lost. This series reminds me of the Houston series from 2009 but I think OKC 2010 is better than Houston 2009. I told CatsX3 before the playoffs I didn't like how the Lakers looked and even though they were one bad 4th quarter from being up 3-0, as a Laker fan, I am starting to squirm a little.

From what I found they have $40,252,254 tied up for next year for the following players: Durant, Westbrook, Green, Collison, Krstic (Player Option that he will take), Harden, Sefolosha, Maynor, Mullens, Ibaka , DJ White, & Weaver.

 

The cap was set at 56 million I believe, so that gives them a little less than 16 to start with. Add the two first round picks and it goes down to roughly 13.

You right I was looking at the tax level(69.9) not the salary cap. It was 57.7 for this year and it is going to go down for next year.

So upon further review the Thunder do NOT have cap room to sign a max player with the cap expecting to be around 50-54 million next year. Now of course they can go over the cap room but they have to pay for it.

Leave it to Miami to find a way to blow most of this lead before the half.
