Nosir. Conner beat Highlands in the District finals that yr and went on to win the State Championship. No way did they go through Lou to get that State Championship. There were 4 classes at that time and Conner was a 3A team then along with the likes of Highlands,Newport, NewCath, Lloyd and few others which consisted of sub-districts. I think the 4A in NKY consisted of teams like BC, Dixie, Campbell Cty, Holmes and others.

I took a glance at the past AAAA championship games, and some of those teams are now in much lower classifications. DeSales was in AAAA in the early '80s. Just think about AAA back then, Lloyd and Newport were considered large schools back then, how things have changed.

Let's hope that doesn't happen.

I am just saying if any one goes down for SK they got back ups!

You can talk about records from the past 5 seasons all you want. If Boone and Ryle played the crap teams Sk plays every year they'd lose 2 games a year tops. Play Highlands and Anderson and some teams that are actually good then i wanna hear about records in the past 5 years. But hey if Boone and Ryle sucked every year like Sk does i'd be pretty excited about last year also. Just remember it's easy to have one good year when you play NOBODY!

Let's talk head to head records and success in the play offs the past five years.... Or does that part of the season not count.....:idunno:

Also Sk is not better

Last 7 meetings between Boone and Sk

Sk 63 Boone21

Sk 14 Boone 7

Sk 7 Boone 42

Sk 3 Boone41

Sk 15 Boone 29

Sk 19 Boone 16

Sk 10 Boone 42

So basically this tells me Sk= 131 and Boone= 198?????? Woww thats like 67 points? So i Don't think Sk is better based on the past haha. Get your facts straight.

Looks like a 3-4 record vs a 4-3 record to me, sooooooo what's the big deal?

As said before the district is competitive, but not good. There is a big difference. Exactly 0 state champions EVER out of this vaunted district at the highest classification level.

And your point? They played and BEAT the teams they HAVE TO PLAY IN DISTRICT, none of which are private schools, which have most of the state championships. However in all fairness it is a level playing field; the public 6A NKY schools are trying hard to figure out how to legally get kids from Ohio, Indiana, and Illinois, I'm sure it's just a matter of time.

One team? Look at Bonne's schedule stacked up to SK's.

Does it really matter who you beat if you don't make it as deep in the play offs??? I'm just wondering when they started giving "strength of schedule championships"? When did that start? I must have missed it............:deadhorse:

I highly doubt Ryle seperates the team for individual workouts for the two mentioned players and doesn't go through reps with backups and second team, to think otherwise is just silly.

To say SK plays a crap schedule maybe u are right I mean they did sweep district pretty easy beat every team by atleast 2 TDS!!!!!

My bad they beat everybody in district by atleast 20 points sad!

NKY 6A wasn't exactly as strong this past year as it normally is.

I'd hope SK could win the district against teams with the following records:

Conner (8-3)- Record is a bit misleading. I love Coach T but look at Conner's schedule and it's easy to see why they went 8-3.

Ryle (8-4) - Junior led team with youth all over the field. The team that played Trinity in the playoffs wasn't the same team that SK saw personnel wise.

Boone Co (4-7)- Probably one of the worst teams in Boone history.

Campbell Co (3-7)- Boone, Ryle, and Conner all 3 took the Camels behind the woodshed as well so I wouldn't go thumping my chest over this win.

Cooper (3-7)- Second year program...enough said.

You are correct on all points.

4A may have still been divided into "Jefferson County" and the "rest of the state."

It was still divided up that way.

I know it was in 1987 when Boone lost to Shelby County in the state finals, a team they beat in the regular season. That is the biggest disappointment for a Boone team that did not win a state title,NOT the team with Alexander. When you consider the oppoent and talent level of the opponent.

Shelby was part of the "Louisville" district and everyone else was at-large.

Thanks for the correction, Conner must have been pretty solid if they beat the Birds.

Some one correct me if I am wrong but I think they beat them twice that year. Once in the regular season and then the playoffs.

You're right, the district wasnt as deep but the top was still pretty good. SK and Conner were the two teams which were senior laden. Ryle had over 20 seniors but if some of you remember it was a group that had dwindled down from 75 when they were freshman. They all should have some pretty good returning players, but i would def give the edge to Ryle. They will have almost 30 seniors this year, starting very few juniors on the team and potentially zero sophs. They are going to put players on the field that have not had much varsity action but with their off-season workouts and their "learning from the sidelines", some new seniors should be able to turn some heads.

These seniors are the ones that dominated their freshman year, on their way to the championship.

 Sorry I am missing your point. Are they not good teams, or they are not good because they are not private, or they don't cheat, or they are going to cheat, but haven't figured out how to do it yet?/:confused:

THE BOTTOM LINE IS THAT NONE OF THEM HAVE EVER WON STATE! Even occasionally public schools from Lexington win the crown-so what's the deal?
