Track the Reds (Week 1)

Featured Replies

How many teams started their #4 or #5 pitcher on opening day?

Except the difference is that on the Reds Harang is the #2 at worst.

Another one for the good guys! :D

I don't see a situation where the Red Birds don't win 90+ games.

So if a situation happens where Pujols and Carpenter get hurt, they still win 90+???

They stay healthy for the most part they will run away with this division by July. The only concern is the bullpen. Good old Ryan Franklin is struggling.

I thought it was kinda assumed health wise with all the baseball IQ on this board, which there really is.

Bearing Carpenter, Wainright, Pujols, Holliday, Rasmus, Ludwick, Molina don't start a rock band and tour in Europe I see the Cards winning 90 +... better? The only guy I am concerned with is Franklin.

I simply named one...

It's just one game. The pen is a little worrisome, but that will change a lot throughout the season. The only thing we know for sure is that Pujols is a beast.

The "MLB At Bat" iPhone app is awesome, by the way.

How does that work?

I thought about purchasing it, but wasn't sure if it was $15/month or a one time fee...

Do you have MLB.TV in conjuction with it so you can watch games? Or do you just have the $15 deal where you can listen to them?

The app is $15 for the whole season. There is a free version too, but I'm not sure which features it lacks. I have an MLB.tv subscription too so I can stream all out of market games. I watched the Reds game on my phone yesterday since I wasn't home, which was awesome.

With the $15 one, you can only watch or listen to 1 game per day on your phone correct?

I think you can listen to all of them and then you get to watch one a day. But, I'm not sure if you get to pick which game is available. I'm not 100% though.

So in your mind this year Harang will be better than every Reds starter except maybe one? What could you be basing that upon? Stellar spring? Last 2 years? His contract?

The fact that the Reds pitching is not very good....:idunno:

Cueto was terrible in Spring, Leake has never thrown an inning, and Bailey is completely unpredictable.

I'd say Arroyo is their best pitcher, which tells just how bad they are, then either Harang or Cueto.
