Does any of the big 5 return to UK?

Featured Replies

Cousins said in the press conference that the biggest reason he was so upset was because this was the last time he would be able to play with his "brothers." IMO, that doesn't sound like he will be staying in Lexington.

Everyone's a source now huh?

No I said rumor, I won't say who .But I heard that a certain Cat player contacted a formentioned school approximately 3 weeks ago . Take it for what it is worth . I hope that it doesn't happen . :idunno: I am no expert or a source by no means just passing along a RUMOR which I hope that is all it is .

Wall, Patterson, and Cousins are gone.

I think Bledsoe will leave too, but IMO he could use another year to work on some things.

I really don't see why Orton would leave. Sure he's a shot blocking presence down low, but he is still very raw offensively and needs some work. It'd be smart for him to stay 2, maybe 3 years in Lexington.

Anyone care to shed some light on the transfer situation? Rumor or not.

With a possible lockout looming for the NBA, I'd say it's very possible all 5 go.

How does next years recruiting class look so far?

5* Enes Kanter (6'9 PF) and 4* Stacey Poole (6'5 SF) are the only two who have committed so far.

I'd expect UK to get either Brandon Knight or CJ Leslie as well, if not both.

Ding, ding! I was waiting on someone to mention this. They will all probably be advised to go now while there is money out there. If they wait another year they could get caught without a job if the lockout actually happens.

I really think Orton needs to stay. As for the rest of them, thats a tough choice. I'd like to see Bledsoe come back, but hes got a tough choice. I'd be really surprised if any of the other 3 return.

Any rumors on JUCO's? I know they have been in contact with Vargas who played for Florida last year, but I would think they would look for a couple given the amount of players they could potentially be losing.

With a pretty high chance of an NBA lockout after the 2010-2011 season IMO opinion all 5 may very well go pro.

Biggest misconception out there about the NBA. Bottom teams might not but the top teams are the best defensive teams in the world.

Out of curiousity how many NBA games have you been too? Watch Lebron and Kobe play live... you simply can't guard them. Every now and then they have off nights. I doubt Bledsoe will help the cause in guarding those kinda players.

Did anyone see the article were Patterson told Alan Cutler last night , that he had not ruled out returning next year ? I haven't seen nor read it but was told that it was read this morning . I am in search of a link now maybe Wireman can help with this one .:idunno:

Cousins said for the first time in his life he was accepted. That is a really nice feeling. He also REALLY grew up the 2nd half of the season. I wish him only the best.

That's why I don't think his foot is completely out the door. He's most likely gone but who knows who the draft will project. If he falls out of the top 5 I would personally advise him to stay. I'll give my reason below....

Wall is Rondo. Turner is Brandon Roy. Guess it depends on what your team needs.

Great comparisons. I think Turner and Wall could be better than Rondo & Roy but that's who I would compare them too. I think Turner could end up like Scottie Pippen.

Wake up people. Money talks and if these guys can get guaranteed 3 year contracts why SHOULD they stay?? With the NBA agreement ending there is no assurance that they will after next year.

Well I would say endorsements for Wall & Cousins. Wall will probably get a pretty big deal I'd imagine but who would sign Cousins right now? That's really where a lottery pick can make some big money as well. With another year of Wall mania and some polish on his game he could get a huge shoe deal or other thinks like Gatorade, etc. It's a gamble, but I think it could/should be something he should think about.

For Cousins he has really cleaned up his act. I doubt he would get alot of endorsements coming out but it could help. And I think going out to California with the guy Patterson trained with would do wonders for him. With some increased athleticism he'd be a handful even at the NBA level IMO.

WWW will probably get Wall the hook up with Nike anyway, but it's something to think about.

Wall will be #1 due to the importance of the PG position.

How so? In the modern era of the NBA wouldn't you say a dominant wing is way more important?

Stockton, Kidd, Nash, Paul, Deron Williams have how many titles combined?

To me at the NBA level the wing and post are way, way, way more important.

Jordan, Kobe, DWade, Pierce/Allen won titles with average PGs. Sure Rondo has become an All-Star but he wasn't then. Ron Harper, D-Fisher were/are clutch performers but far from all-star players. Gary Payton was way past his prime for the Heat's title run and Jason Williams magic had pretty much run out.

Shaq, Olajuwon, Duncan, Robinson, Garnett are NBA champions.

Give me a great wing or a great Post player any day of the week in the NBA right now or give me a legit argument why not. The importance of the PG is extremely overrated in the modern NBA. Chauncey Billups & Tony Parker are the two best PGs to win a title since '91 for crying out loud.

However I do believe Wall should go #1. He's the best player in the draft and guys on the wing are hard to project.

I think astute comments, which again leads me to ask-how with all of this talent did UK not get to the Final 4?

Also Cal of course would say grab the money, because that is what he does.

As an aside I find the term "student athletes" very funny in the post game press conferences. That one is truly not aimed at UK players, but geez NCAA get real.

-Um UK didn't make the Final Four because WVU was the better team yesterday. Remind me when any of Wall, Cousins, Patterson, Bledsoe or Orton go undrafted.

-Yeah let's just slam Cal. He always goes for the money.:idunno: At which point in time did he do this? I guess you'd have stayed at UMass when the NBA offered you a job or turned down one of the best programs in history to stay at Memphis? What a joke.

-Some are "student athletes". Isn't John Wall taking 18 hours right now? Seems kind of like he's taking college seriously......

Anybody think Patterson could make it a s a TE in the NFL? Size, hands, feet, arms....unsure of speed.

Why not? Look at Antonio Gates. Or even this last season with Jimmy Graham. Dude had never played football in his life and he's gonna get drafted after only one year of experience. I think it would probably be based on how well his strength, athleticism converted to the football field if he really wanted to play.

A blocking TE probably like a Reggie Kelly. Speed would determine it all... My guess he is a 4.8-5.0 guy. He will have a nice NBA career. Chuck Hayes is in the league and has been. PPat will also be in the league for a long time.

C'mon man Bledsoe isn't going to be guarding either one of those guys.....
