March 26, 201016 yr Author The team I watched play last night is not the best team UK has played all season. That reminded me of an early season non-conference matchup where UK played good in spurts and ultimately ended up pulling it out with little doubt. Cornell did not play their best game last night. It happens. If Wittman had been his typical self, the game goes to the wire. The Tennessee team that UK beat down by 29 looked like am early non-conference opponent as well. I still say that Cornell beats the parolees from Knoxville if they played this weekend.

Because they had zero room to breath on the offensive end. Wittman couldn't sniff an open look. Cornell played bad because UK forced them to.

And Offensively UK played terrible. How bad would it have been if they played well Offensively ? :isurrender:
March 26, 201016 yr Sorry but your wrong. It's your opinion and thats OK but you are still wrong. IMO
March 26, 201016 yr Because they had zero room to breath on the offensive end. Wittman couldn't sniff an open look. Cornell played bad because UK forced them to. Exactly. As a TEAM, Cornell wasn't good enough to get their guys any open looks. A very mediocre team.
March 26, 201016 yr Exactly. As a TEAM, Cornell wasn't good enough to get their guys any open looks. A very mediocre team. I would say they are a good team. We saw what they did to Temple and Wisconsin, that was no fluke. UK was just way too big, long, athletic and strong for them.
March 26, 201016 yr Author Admitting that Cornell may be the best KY has faced this year is equivalent to admitting how mediocre UK's schedule was. There was mostly mediocrity on that schedule. UT and VU are good little teams but that's about it. The SEC wasn't terribly tough this year. Had the Cats gone to Syracuse, WVU, and GTown, they may have had a few more losses. I still think Cornell competes favorably against UT or Vandy. Edited March 26, 201016 yr by the mathemagician

UT, VU are good little teams but that's about it. You are way over selling Cornell. They are good at best. Some good teams took them for granted during the year and almost got upset, key word being almost. They are as one dimensional a team as I can remember. UK took away their outside game and they had nothing left.

In fact, I said UK would win by double digits. I simply maintain that there is not much difference in teams between the Big Red and the Big Orange Correctional Institution to our south.

Except that if they played one another 10 times, UT wins 9. :idunno:

While the SEC is not a good conference, I have a hard time believing that over a 16 game conference schedule they would be much more than a .500 team. In single game scenarios here and there, Cornell can be a match up problem for good teams. But having to bring it over the course of a BCS conference schedule I am not able to see it.

You also said if Cornell jumps to an early lead it wold go down to the wire...they did, and it didn't.
