You have to respect a kid like Vaughn. I've always liked him.

I thought it was a classy move by referee Jim Burr to seek Vaughn out when he came out of the game. He made sure he shook his hand. I haven't seen too many referees do that and I thought it was true sign of respect for Deonta Vaughn.

How in the world can UC take Dayton lightly?

You'd think that any team capable of beating X by 25 would command some respect.

UC is a huge disapointment....I actually thought they might end up in the top 5 in the Big East but not so much.

Cronin is not a good coach at all and the fans seem to have deserted the program.

The minds of 19 and 20 year old kids is always so easy to predict, right? This was an issue several times this year, and hopefully the young guys can learn from it and continue to progress...

Was someone really complaining that guys on NIU & Cornell weren't on better rosters?

A. No one had ever heard of them before this tourney.

B. Most of the guys doing the damage are 3 & 4 year guys that have had alot of seasoning and fit their teams style of play. Ali Farokhmanesh? Dude averaged 10 PPG this year so it's not like he was lighting it up all season, ala Steph Curry.

Sorry that's all I got out of this thread, but NIU probably wouldn't even be in this tourney if they were in the Big East. They have a nice team but in league play people would be prepared for that style of play and the level of talent and athleticism would take over very quickly. I hope no one thinks NIU is better than Kansas..... Or if Cornell beats UK that they are better. It's a tournament, 1 game. Heck I might be Kobe in a game of horse, one time .

How is NIU not better than Kansas? They beat them soundly from start to finish in a high stakes game in a one and out format, right? Heck, Cornell had Kansas beat at Kansas earlier in the year. Sounds like you think it was a fluke. Kansas was an over rated team all year. Why would you want to diminish what NIU, Cornell, and St. Mary's have accomplished? These teams may not have loaded rosters with 5 star players, but their whole is bigger than their parts. If you like watching great, unselfish, team concept basketball, then these teams cannot be matched. Very enjoyable to watch from someone who is student of the game.

Nice little comment about Cornell from Boeheim:

After his team beat Cornell, 88-73, Syracuse Coach Jim Boeheim said the Big Red could compete in the Big East. "They would win games in our league," he said. "They would win a bunch of games."

Talked to a couple of co-workers that are UC grads. They expect Cronin to be gone after next season if an NCAA tourney berth is not achieved.
