March 21, 201016 yr The guys on CBS (Greg Anthony and Seth Davis) clearly don't like UK. They haven't been able to give them any credit at all the entire tournament. Yeah they really do as does Jay Bilas. Everything is always so negative, even after UK has been maybe the most impressive team in this tournament.
March 21, 201016 yr Yeah, I remember all that hating they did on Duke during the Lacrosse team's scandal and I think they did a story on Laettner's business failings. I think all ESPN wants to do is hate on schools with great basketball traditions seeing as now no one connected to these great programs ever have anything interesting going on in their lives that people can learn from when they aren't playing for these great schools anymore. You will never,ever get UK fans to believe anything negative has been said about Duke on ESPN.
March 21, 201016 yr I think they're all just jealous of UK I agree. Just pure jealously. I can't think of any other reason for all of the unbridled hate against something as great as the Big Blue.
March 22, 201016 yr Jay Bilas was giving them all kinds of compliments in last night's broadcasts, maybe overall he might appear to not like them but he had to give them their due last night.

I don't think Bilas is anti-UK. I think the guy just gives his honest opinion...it just so happens that in 2010, he is skeptical of UK's youth being able to win the whole thing and he really thinks Cornell is a great team. I can't really fault him for that, but I really don't see Cornell over UK. I'll be here to eat my pound of crow if that happens. :lol:
March 22, 201016 yr I may feel from time to time that ESPN doesn't show the love or respect to UK that is due.... BUT I do realize that my perspective as a huge fan might cloud my judgement. HOWEVER, folks do like to point fingers at other's successes. I also know that there are many failings of pro athletes - especially guys in the NBA. It just so happens that UK has a lot of former players who have gone on to that level. It's not a reflection on UK that any of them have had troubles. It's simply math. I suspect that we'll continue to show up in the headlines. We'll continue to produce top players and add in the fact that people are always looking to bring down those at the top... we'll be headlines. Simply the way it is and we, as UK fans should understand those dynamics.

I think he gives his honest opinion and does a pretty good job backing up his picks. Bilas has become my favorite analyst to listen to. He doesn't trash anyone, just gives his analysis. While I hate to say this about a Duke grad, ... Bilas is da man. I may not always agree with him, but it is hard to argue against his logic when stating his case. And I have never felt like any comments that were positive about UK were slaps or jabs.

He's not afraid to go against the crowd either, but not just to be different.
