First ever female high school head football coach

Featured Replies

It's not like the hired the lunch lady or anything geesh buddy.

Just calling it the way I see it. Pro Football? You have got to be kidding. Any high school linebacker would snap her neck on the first hit. She is climbing the PC ladder for all it's worth. What a joke.

I'm curious, sense she was a Pro football player she must have played in college, anybody know where she played? If she played college ball she must have played high school ball. Anybody know the name of her high school? The CNN article said many other more qualified coaches were passed over in order to hire this woman. Their reasons sounded right out of the liberal playbook.

Well if you want I am sure the school district will post the e-mail addresses for the teachers and staff so you can shoot her an e-mail and let her know that she ought to go back to the kitchen.

I am also going to assume that you are against female doctors, lawyers, politicians, police officers, pharmacists and truck drivers.

Here is my question for you, do you have any plans of owning up to it if it turns out that she is successful?

How do you define professional football? Are you speaking from a standpoint that the NFL is the only type? If so then you are quite right in assuming that she has no professional football experience. That said, if you would consider Arena Football a professional league and any kind of league in which players are directly compensated financially a professional league then it is possible that you could have called her a professional football player.

Is she as skilled as Andre Johnson, Randy Moss or Chris Johnson? Not a chance in Tartarus, but to be fair how many of those who play or even coach high school ball ever approached that? Few I would suspect.

I have this feeling that you object more to it due to the fact that you feel it is "man's work" and because women rarely get to play the sport at any level (save kicker) then it should not be allowed.

I am inclined to disagree with that thought process myself. While I don't think many women out there are really cut out to coach football, if one shows that she may have the propensity for it should we stop her or prevent it because she wasn't born with certain pieces of external equipment? I sir feel that she deserves a chance and if she is incapable of doing the job effectively then she should be removed just as any man would.

While you may indeed cry that the PC Police are out and about on this, and you may be right, you need to take into account the fact that I am one that really does not side with the PC Police. In fact anyone in here who ever has spent ANY time debating or discussing any issue with me can tell you I am far from PC. Isn't that right rockmom?

If that school board did not consider this possiblity then they were negligent. She is a double minority so she is a lock to win a lawsuit no matter what she does. This was strickly a PC move that had nothing to do with putting a winning team on the field. If my son was a talented football player with a future in the game and his school made the same mistake I would transfer him or move. Her chance of pulling it off are about 10% in my opinion.
No school would do that, in the real world.

Clearly, she was the most qualified applicant for the job. Gender has nothing to do with the ability to call X's and O's, to understand what goes on in a game, or to relate to high school football players. Add to that, the fact that she has played the game on a higher level than most women, and her chances of success are as good as any male coach.

Jeez, the 19th century-style sexism in this thread is hilarious.

It seams there are a lot of people these days that are so brainwashed with this PC nonsense that they can't tell a car from a cockroach. I will give her a chance.Check back in 3 years and lets see how she's doing. I can't wait to say I told you so. Remember PC is a brainwashing technique. Don't drink that PC koolaid because it makes you see things differently than they really are.

People thinking I am PC, how quaint.

Seriously fella if you think I am drinking the "PC" kool aid then you really need to evaluate your critical thinking skills, because I am nothing of the sort. I am the guy that advocated mining the border with Mexico. I am a pragmatist, nothing more nothing less. I also sided with keeping women out of front line combat units too.

Did you find the link to the article that said that more qualified individuals were passed up for the job?

Good to know.

Calling me PC is like walking up to a boulder and saying "Yessir, that's a banana."

 :walk:

This article is not the same article that I found when starting this thread. The one that I read said nothing about her being chosen over more qualified male coaches. I would like to give you a link to prove it, but truthfully I don't know if I could find it again , and if I did find it again, I wouldn't know how to post it anyway. You will just have to take my word on it , I have no reason to lie.

I can remember female drill sergeants being around in the army. They were frightening!!!!!

They did their jobs and I would think that there is little to no reason that she could not succeed with this if she knows what she is doing.

I can see her doing ok.
