gold sunrise Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 Mason Co advances to play Pendleton Co in the semi-finals tomorrow night.
bigblueinsanity Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 Survive and advance. Brossart gave the Royals everything they wanted and more. The game could have gone either way easily.
Prime_Time_Baller Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 Mason Co advances to play Pendleton Co in the semi-finals tomorrow night. Very disappointed at the coaching tonight, The blueford kid is one of the best players on the team and In my eyes the best player inside for the Royals. Only one not scared to play hard ball. He scored 6-8 points in first half and dont see the floor in 2nd half, Coach says it because he cant play Blueford and Setty at the same time in that kind of defense,(wow). Well I know plenty of coaches int he 10th region that would Play the Blueford kid any time,More to the game then shooting 3's. Much rather have the inside game of Blueford then the shooting of 3's outside.

The 5 guys on the court for Brossart can shot the 3 and drive to the basket, Blueford usually guards the Centers, he will play a big part in the rest of the Tourny. :thumb:
Mr. FlattyCat Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 I dont believe Mason was ready for this game. Alot of Mason fans knew it was coming including I. They came out flat and luckily rebounded late in the fourth... Excellent Performance by the Mustangs IMO.
bigblueinsanity Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 Congrats to Brossart on a great season also. Brossart is always a very tough team to face, the have a great coach in Mike Code.

Waldo Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 Gilbert saved the day for the Royals in that game. :ylsuper:
mcpapa Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 Exactly the game I expected. Key may have been Pawsat's defense on Reiger during the second half; forced him into several high-arcing shots that didn't drop for him. Contributions from several Royals down the stretch, Bradley Lang had a couple of big plays. Hard to single out one or two guys tonight. Congrats to the Royals on advancing to the semis, and to Brossart on a nice season.:thumb: PS - Sharp, I enjoyed the company throughout the game. Come back any time.
bigblueinsanity Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 Mason County's team Defense was great tonight. I think B. Lang and J. Lang are two underated defenders.
SugarDaddy Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 I also can't understand why Blueford didn't see the floor in the second half. This kid can flat out play and is the best rebounder on the team. The only consolation is that he will be well rested for tomorrow night as should be Tyler Black. The Royals have an inside game, why not use it? On a side note, I heard on the radio that Mason Co. raised almost $25,000.00 tonight with the chili supper and silent auction for their team manager who is battling cancer. It sounds like their biggest accomplishment took place off the court and had nothing to do with basketball. Good luck to the Murphy family and get well Kenton!!!

Mustang Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 Royals (primarily Gilbert) forced us into 14 turnovers tonight - Very UnMustanglike. We would have had to play a near-perfect game to win. The beginning of the second period hurt and then the run-shoot fest midway through the fourth were our undoing. I'm glad that we represented ourselves well tonight and that Mike Code gets some well deserved respect. Would have like to have gotten our guys Number 20 (19-7) somewhere along the line, but Ryan Stivers (Scott - District Finals), and Melvin Webster's incredible pill drawing abilities kaboshed that. Jacob Rieger finishes his career with 1280 career points - sixth on the all-time Brossart career scoring list. He was also elected the KABC 10th Region Player (Senior) of the Year, and will be playing college basketball. No regrets - Great season. Lots of fun. See you all next year.
Preachit Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 Great season Mustang. Tell coach Code he does an outstanding job.
Snappy502 Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 Coach O'Hearn is one of the Region best coachs, I'm sure he knows what he is doing. The 5 guys on the court for Brossart can shot the 3 and drive to the basket, Blueford usually guards the Centers, he will play a big part in the rest of the Tourny. :thumb: Chris O'Hearns coaching decision was an absolute JOKE! I have never been an O'Hearn fan but what he did today makes me sick. Blueford has carried this team after everybody got hurt and didn't even see the court in the second half of region! Blueford got real close to ending his basketball career tonight by WATCHING the second half? Chris O'Hearn are you serious? Yes, you will say it was matchups but them guard also have to guard Blueford on the other end. Tonight he missed 1 shot and got the rebound and put it back after he missed it, the guys guarding him came up to his shoulders. That was a huge a mismatch. But now they are just going to use Blueford they could get by without him tonight so that is what they did. Just like if nobody had ever got hurt Blueford would of never seen the court. He isn't one of their "favorites." Yes, it is this awful and the fans even started a chant trying to get him put in the game. You best bet he will be playing a lot in that Clark Co. game tho(if both teams advance) because they will have to have his length to even have a shot. If any Mason Co. fan including you bigblueinsanity want to take up for O'Hearn on this then you need to take off your O'Hearn classes and wake up. I feel so sorry for the kid, as he was pretty much in tears on the bench as he was close to watching his career end. Chris O'Hearn again, YOU ARE A JOKE!
