Mr. FlattyCat Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 Is it just me, or has the KHSAA Refs, have cracked down on the tolerence that they take in a game. I have watched alot of high school games over the years and I have seen more people thrown out this year then all the years previous.
True blue (and gold) Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 I watched probably 50 varsity games this year and probably that many freshmen or JV games and never saw one single person tossed.
Big Slick Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 I have not seen an ejection all year either, but several who should have been.
mcraycraft Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 I have seen one coach 4 times this year and if there was ever a coach that should be tossed it is this guy and he has yet to even get a T in the games I have seen.
School Yard Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 The technicals I saw this year were all on players, not coaches.
Mr. FlattyCat Posted March 5, 2010 Author Posted March 5, 2010 Well I attended, all first and second round 10 region girls action and witnessed 4 crowd members escourted out. Refs stopped the game, went to the scorers table pointed them out and police or sheriff went to the individuals and showed them the exit.
Waldo Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 I wish they would watch the game instead of the crowd. One of the Clark Co boys stole the ball at mid court and when he shot he was hit in the face and had a knot under his eye as big as a goose egg. How can a ref not see these happenings. The tech on the Bracken Co coach was uncalled for. That ref has a lot to be desired IMO.
redcrossave Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 I've seen it happen twice this year and in both instances the fans ejected never cussed or made any threats. I think some of these guys have rabbit ears and are looking to let everyone know it is there show not the kids.
BasketballFreak91 Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 Referees should watch the game and block out the crowd. IMO a referee should have a member of the crowd escorted out for cussing. I think most referees do a good job but there is one in particular (not going to name this 8th Region official) that makes the game about him instead of the players. Which I may be wrong, just what I see from his games.

TakeYourBase Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 I've always said that the good ones are the ones that don't talk a lot.... to the players, to the fans, or the coaches. If asked a question they answer it but there isn't a lot of unnecessary chatter that takes away from their focus on the game.
Henry521 Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 Hand them a pink slip for a warning like that other sport does.:lol::lol::lol::lol: In all seriousness, get a grip, your child is not the next Brett Farve, or Micheal Jordan, and if he is, you will not need to be an obnoxious fan to prove it. If he or she is relax and enjoy this High School moment because it is the last they will have. Let them live it and enjoy it with out some adult messing it up.:thumb:
EastSideJunkie Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 They need to crack down in Louisville. Couple of coaches that get away with way too much!
KSCTU Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 A lot of very good points on this topic. Officials SHOULD only concern themselves with the game. When a fan or fans get out of hand.....a home administrator SHOULD "step up" and do their job. With administrators like that.....officials DON`T have to worry about anything except the game......which is why they are on the floor to begin with.
Big Slick Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 Ad's want refs to tell them what to do, so they won't look like the bad guy, especially with adult fans.
