I seen on the news that Coach Cal will be at Keenland the weekend these go on sale to autograph the bottles. I take it that this means they also will be selling them there? I assume you are not allowed to bring your own bourbon to the track. :idunno:

Coach Cal will sign a few bottles. However, he will not be signing every single bottle brought to the track. A little tidbit on Coach Cal; he suffers from severe arthritis in his hands and can't perform long signing sessions. That's why Bill Samuels and the President of Keeneland will also be there for the signing.

As far as bringing the bourbon to the track, they allow it for this signing. It is done early in the morning before racing begins and most people who are there to get their bottles signed do not stay for the races.

My daughter lives in Bowling Green and her boyfriend just called me and told me that he has a Coach Cal bottle reserved for me. :dancingpa

You could put Cal's picture on a Schlitz bottle and it would sell out. The guy is a moneymaker! On a side note I just heard that Tom Crean will be featured on a limited set of Boones Farm bottles. That was sent to me from a disgruntled IU fan. Lol

This is what a few people cannot come around to understand. Have coach Cal involved with anything in KY these days and it will be a success! These bottle will sell, and it's the huge UK following Maker's are taping into, so who cares if a few haters won't buy it, someone else will.

On the Maker's Mark Facebook post, one person suggested that Maker's do a series for all of the Kentucky colleges and universities. That might be a well meaning thought, but will those bottles sell? It's not a guarantee.

I would buy a Centre one.

The proceeds for this are going somewhere right?

Correct. I believe its going to the Ky Symphony assocation or something along those lines. I think I heard they expect it to be $300k.

Yes. UK's Fine Arts Outreach Program.
